My favorite bit about this product is that it doesn't need battery or need to be connected to the mains to work. It comes with a short USB cable and this you connect to your laptop - Simple! The whole thing is plug and play so you neither have to install any drivers to make it work. However one thing I have noticed is that using this drastically reduces the battery life of my laptop, so I need to be sat near the plug socket anyway as the laptop needs to be on charge.
Integrated withing the keyboard is a volume control to independently control the volume of your laptop if using the speakers. This is handy although it sometimes gets confusing as you have to check both the sound on the laptop and and lap-desk to see which needs altering sometimes! There is also a button to turn on and off the fan. Personally I generally have it turned on all the time as it is almost silent and the main reason I bought this was to keep my laptop cool.
Overall I am pleased with my buy. It is simple to use, light and small to carry round and functions well at keeping my laptop nie and cool. The speakers are a bonus and often don't get used but as the unit was a similar price to products without speakers I don't mind.
