I used windows for a very long time and though it has consumed the majority of multimedia market, but when it comes to working(document, programming, simlutaion) there is no alternative to Linux.


I use Fedora scientific as it comes preloaded with useful tools such as texmaker, gnuplot, various compilers, advanced calculators etc. It's light and superfast. The best feature of linux according to me is the live boot feature. I wish windows had the same.
