Ice Ice Baby. Review on LG GR-S592 QLC Refrigerator

Hi Friends,Today I will review about the LG refrigerator Model GR-S592 QLC, which is a huge 590 litre capacity double door fridge, made in Korea .I am using it for the last five years without any hassles and am sharing with you some useful info here about it.

Let’s have a look at its features and pros:-

1) It comes in a sleek and shiny metallic offbeat English grey colour which at that time was the only colour available, but it looks stunning in it, so no problems regarding the sole colour.

2) It comes with a 410 litre refrigerator compartment and a cool 180 litre deep freezer compartment and believe me the freezer compartment is really deep and big sized, resembling just like a whole small fridge in itself. It is divided in to two shelves where you can keep any thing that needs to be kept there for a long period in lower temperatures. The auto control temperature system is very powerful with no worries of any deterioration of items kept inside it for a long time. The ice making skills of it are excellent and it makes it very fast.

3) The refrigerator compartment which is a 410 litre capacity is spacious and strong enough to hold any load. It has three shelves in the front fitted with toughened fibre glass on which you can put as much things without any fear of overloading. (Hmm, suits very well for our Gujju households where our females keep more things in the fridge than in the cupboards. Ha Ha.).

4) The last space of the fourth shelf is occupied by two huge vegetable drawer type boxes which can hold the raw vegetables in big quantities and is generally referred as the vegetable drawers. Even if you keep the vegetables for more than a week there it will not deteriorate a bit, hence it’s nice for the females to bring all of the whole week’s supply of vegetables and store them here. No hassles.

5) Well, the LG company was smart enough to patent the ice beam door cooling technology as it’s great to have numerous air vents throwing cool air everywhere inside the side compartment shelves of the door keeping everything cool and fresh. It has huge four shelves that can hold the smaller things like small containers filled with any stuff, soft drink bottles, Ketch-up bottles, squash bottles, Jam Bottles etc, just anything can be stored in this spacious four shelves of the door.

6) It has a coated infrared lamp that emits light infrared rays that restrains the dryness of the foods kept inside and keeps it in original form without transforming it and believe me these rays keep the aroma and smell of the food intact for a long time preventing it from fermentation and over ripening without causing any harm to the foods.

7) It has a harmless deodorizer through which unpleasant odour of food is deodorized with no harm to the food and you will never experience any smell coming out or a mixed smell coming from inside whenever you open the fridge and the best part is that the same deodorizer can be re-used several times as per the instructions provided in it’s manual. So no extra money to be spent for it.

Now a look at its performance-

1) It’s an extra quiet refrigerator with absolutely no noise, making me wonder sometimes whether it’s asleep all the time.

2) The defrosting is obviously automatic and the defrosted water flows down to an evaporating tray provided on the back side of the refrigerator and gets evaporated automatically.

3) It doesn’t pinch your pocket by means of power consumption. After I bought it, I noticed that thereafter my monthly electricity bill just rose by some 200 Rupees more than the smaller fridge that I had, before buying this one, so in a way looking at its large capacity, the power consumption is very low.

Cons- hardly any. I never needed to call the service centre as I still don’t have even any minor problem with it. The size is a bit too large, but then looking at the 590 litre capacity, it is bound to be a little large, so, it would be a problem only for those who do not have sufficient space compared to the smaller capacity refrigerators which consume less space. Otherwise, no cons apart from the space problem. I had purchased this refrigerator at Rs-45000/= at that time, but don’t know its current price.

On a whole I have found this refrigerator quite sleek and sturdy,efficient, trouble free and long lasting, delivering a power packed performance to please all and I would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of buying a large capacity refrigerator which is trustworthy in performance and stability. Go for this one.
