OOPS, WE did it again...As usual my wife(Sana shagun k khan) forgot to tell me about the vacation of our elder son Fahad..&.very much like me khalid (MSian bkaks)..i did not tell her to pack at her ease......So as always half packed & half planned we hit the highway.....50 kms passed I sent an SOS msg to my friends on MS & others askn them btao kaha jao....hihih
We stopped at skylark resorts for refueling us as we left home at around 3:30pm & till that time we were busy packing, so could not get to eat properly...We got many responses back from our MSian(thanks to all of them)so Ranikhet was decided...
One of my friend who happens to be my hunting partner had suggested a place called MALANI, somewhere close to jim corbett & assuered us that its BEAUTIFUL...As the place was good.... we started our journey for Malani...ALOK-da(MOUNTAINLOVER) GOT CURIOUS & ASKED ME TO POST dp ABOUT MALANI AFTER WE COME BACK...
150 kms away from Delhi ....NEHA my SAlaj called us & said yar 10 days ki chutti hai why not go to CHAUKORI, its a wonderful place & it's supose to be haveing the most beautiful sunrise in the WORLD...Imagine the third change......again Alok-da came for our help by msgn me the telephone nos of PITTHORAGARH for room booking at TRH(KMVN).........
11:30pm...foothills haldwani so many changes, so many turns, so many stopovers my kido, my lil son Kaki started showing that he is tired n started pueking......late at night & in the middle of nowhere...I cud not decide what to do????GO BACK TO DELHI.....KEEP TRAVELLN TOWARDS CHAUKORI OR WHATTTT????
We decided against Chaukori & drove at full speed towardz Naukuchiatal.it was the closest known place to us from kathgodam..I calledup kmvn rest house as the manager Mr Pandey is an old friend...he told us the rest house is all packed but he arranged for a room at the lake resort for us..... (what followed after was kaki's medication & rest)
First morning at the resort>>>As I ve told you about the Hidden Treasure of Kumaon, let's find out the booty now I ve' the keys n the map to it.....THE LAKE RESORT IS FORTUNATE THAT IT IS RUN BY Mr VERMA & HE IS A TRUE NATURE LOVER
Unlike the other hotels in the hills where the construction sticks with the bricks, this Resort syncs nicely with its enviroment.it has a extra wide front running parallel to the LAKE, with spacious rooms which allows the guests in every room to ve' uninterrupted view of both the lake & the lush green scenery...the main building, the middle court, & the hunter's lodge all the3 three blocks are seperated by atleast 200/300mts..
For the health concious they ve'a gym & sauna too, , but I would suggest to take a walk/jogg on the track as they ve;70/80acres of natural beauty nestled amongst large oaks, the pretty lake &an abundance of nature...
so no need to carry your I.pods or walkmans either instead the birds song would be a treat to your ears...I stayed their for 5 nights so during the 6 days which I had with me were worth shareing with you all my friends..Our first night & second day went into busy nursing our son, but god is great. Kaki was back to his form soon after that, which allowed me to unwind...
As usual I went out for my jogging each day & to my surprise , there I could jog for 2 kms downhill & back the reason was clean & pollution free surrounding day time we played hide & seek with kidz we even walked inside the jungle(BELONGS TO THE RESORT ONLY) WE SAW SOME VERY COLOURFULL BUTTERFLIES,THE KIDS WERE ALL EXITED as we do'nt get to see them in cities....they came face to face with different kinds of plants & trees you know friends this leisure trip became an educational trip for the kids...
other activities here are Billards, pool table, ping pong lots of indoor games or challege the rocks go for rock climbing or fly your way with Paragliding.....& if you are lucky you could net a **mahaseers, the angler's ultimate fresh water prize....but of course the more intresting idea is to hit the water, go for a boat ride in the shimmering water of NAUKUCHIATAL(LAKE WITH 9 CORNERS)...A SMALL FLITE OF STAIRS LL' TAKE YOU TO THE PRIVATE BOAT STAND OF THIS RESORT(THOU THEY CHARGE 50/75 BUGS MORE) BUT ITS WORTH IT AS THE BOAT STAND IS AROUND 4 KMS DOWN THE ROAD, SO IT SAVES YOUR TIME & PETROL...
The food is typically kumaoni style..shaayad aap ko bhi kam pasand aaye(NORTH INDIANS ), Chinese is OK & Continental is good.. The staff is good & courteous & the overall experience is worth remembering....The charges here are quite nominal as we shelled out around 3000 rupees a day all inclusive..for a family off four a couple & two lil' kids..with me who eats alot & in regular interval..hihihi..so think before throwing a invite to me, , lol**.....:-D
*All of it started with twists & turns, many changes & some pain...but ended well & here we would like to thankyou all the fellow msians who prayed for our son kaki...we love you all...thankyou .......aapka apna bkaks
