Kentucky Fried Chicken or KFC is popping up everywhere and going reasonably strong even in the credit crunch. I used to eat at KFC when I was younger but stopped primarily due to health and lifestyle reasons. When I used to work part time while studying, I used to purchase food from KFC at lunchtimes as it provided quick and reasonably priced food. I used to buy the Zinger meal, which included a chicken fillet burger with cheese, lettuce, hash brown, mayo and salsa sauce, alongside fries and a soft drink like Pepsi all for around Rs 300.
The meal was tasty and reasonably warm with the fillet cooked well. The fries are not greasy and the meal is filling. However, such meals are not healthy as it contains mayo and cheese and regular consumption should be avoided as I used to eat it every weekend and found to be piling on the pounds quicker than I was burning it through exercise.
I stopped buying such fast food meals after a while and bought in my own home made sandwiches, which were healthier and cheaper. In the current climate, people want the convenience and the value for money, which it provides, but do not compromise your health with regular consumption as I have seen with some people. Even the skin on the chicken wings or pieces have too much fat. Overall, a bargain bucket should be consumed once in a blue moon rather than frequently
