We have heard about a lot of concerts happening LIVE, since time in memorial. Nowadays even the TV channels are showcasing talent from all INDIA. Apart from all this stands one Live show ''KEEP ALIVE'', which am sure is not heard of by many or rather by none on MS.
KEEP ALIVE is a musical show dedicated fully to yesteryears, started none other than the man himself Mr Manohar Iyer, the soul of the show. His passion for music at a very early age, made him leave his job as finance Manager IDBI, and with the backing and help of his three friends Mr Krishnan Iyer, Mr Manoj Subramanian & Mr Rajesh Subramanian started the musical group KEEP ALIVE.
Manohar's in-depth knowledge of Hindi music leaves even the best to aghast, and one is amazed with the zest with which he prepares the compares the show. The organization is now all of 8 with a membership of 3600 and ever growing. The shows are held in different parts of Mumbai City so as to enable its members from all over to attend the show. On growing popularity , the show is also hosted by some big corporate houses and LIONS club , Rotaries etc.
Keep Alive has had the privilege of felicitating personalities in the music fraternity and the bollywood badshahs of yesteryears like Dilip Kumar, Naushad Sahaab, Ghulam Mohammed, Manna Dey, Smt Leena Chandawarkar, Amit Kumar (when tribute were paid to Kishor Da). And as recent as July 31st being Rafi Saab's 25th death anniversary year, his entire family attended all the shows. And a show held for Sahir Ludhianvi was a treat for music lovers. Great poet Pradeep, lyricist Shakil Badayuni , Majrooh Sultanpuri. Such is the charisma of KEEP ALIVE, Even Hritik Roshan sat through the whole program when he was invited for the show that paid rich musical tributes to his grandfather Roshan.
The organization was founded in 1997 starting with a musical programme on ''50 years of Independence'' and has come a long way since than. Manoharji conceives the whole programme himself and has long hours of rehearsals with his musicians and singers . He picks songs that are very rare and many times unheard of but these are like jewels in his treasure, and a treat for the music lovers who never miss an opportunity to attend these shows. The songs are from movies from 40s to 60s. and are theme based . Either on the music directors , lyricist or the singers. During the show Manoharji keeps the audience enthralled withinformation about the chosen theme and gives information in a manner which the audience listens to with pin drop silence.
And yes, last but not the least, the show also gains immense points as being one of the few shows that starts and ends DOT on TIME. So make your TIME , most memorable with KEEP ALIVE
