I have been relishing Karim's non-vegetarian mughlai style food for about thirty years. No other affordable restaurant comes anywhere near the quality and taste of food at Karim's. I have tried food at their restaurants at Jama Masjid & Nizamuddin as well as the takeaway at Vikas Marg, East Delhi.
It was very surprising to hear the adverse feedback from reviews about Karim's takeaway at Sector-18, NOIDA. However since the cooks at each outlet are different, there is possibility of variation at each location. This does not takeaway the un-disputable leadership of Karim's authentic mughlai dishes. The flagship outlet is at Jama Masjid, wherer no one can complain about the taste and quality.
The only negative point is the crammed location of the restaurant and the difficult approach. As it is housed in one of the old haveli's and not a proper restaurant, it cannot be air-conditioned and chairs and tables are not the most comfortable ones. The huge rush of food-lovers also creates a huge waiting time. Lack of professional management of manpower & resources also sometimes leave the guests fuming.
However at the end of the day, the taste of the food makes up for everything. Not to be missed if you are a non-vegetarian coming to Delhi.
