Whenever I heard the word JNV it just take me to those golden 7 years of my life that I can't forget ever. Those days are really good, surely the best part of my life. JNV is not just a school it is our second home and a path /guide to reach the summit. It enlighten the life of lakhs of students across the country. It do not just teach the bookish staff but it teaches us how to live life with our society, community, and so on.
From my very childhood it was my dream to get admitted in JNV darrang as my elder brother was already there in the school. So I prepared for the selection test when I was in class 6 and studying in mangaldai higher secondary school. After 3 month of preparation I sit in the exam and got selected .I was very happy to get selected. now its the time to pack and left the home . It was 4th july 2008, a hot summer day a lean and thin boy left home for jnv darrang. My elder brother was already there, he helped me a lot as I was not aware of the thing, he even washes my cloth many times as we junior rarely got the opportunities to use the bathroom. At the beginning I was a little bit sad as I left home but as time passes I became used to it.
Our schedule was very tight, from morning 6 am to till 10 pm night. The day starts with the morning PT and then morning tea and then had to attend the morning assembly at 7 AM. After 2 classes we had to proceed to the dinning hall for breakfast and then again classes till 1 PM. the followed by lunch. After 1 hour of rest we had to again go to academic block for remedial which was the most annoying part of the schedule. Again sports time from 4 pm followed by attendance and tea and then self study and dinner at 9 pm. This was our daily schedule we had to follow for the whole 7 years.
Our principal Madhab sharma sir was very strict and his contribution toward the school is just amazing. The JNV work for the all round development of the students because we belief Education is not just having bookish knowledge and passing the classes. It include a whole lot of skills ranging from sports, health, personality development, communication, arts, cultural activities, leadership and so on. Jnv provide a most appropriate platform to develop all the skills.
It provide all the commodities from tooth paste to school uniform free of cost to the students and food too.Now I feel the food that we were being given was the best, we never get such kind of food in any government hostel.
All the teacher were very good and we have a very good relation with them till today. Jayanta sir who teaches mathematics was really amazing, his way of teaching is unbelievable. Devika dutta ma'am teaches us English as like she is telling us a story.
JNV has mould our life and give a different shape to it. It shows the path of life and today as a medical student I would like to give all credit to jnv and jnv family for what they did reach my destiny.
