No doubt, Pru ICICI is a professionally managed mutual fund. But we should be talking about the kind of funds it offers to investors. One such is Pru ICICI Technology Fund. It looks attractive at the current lowest levels (around Rs.5 per unit). A good time to enter but beware, it carries a high risk. You can expect it to touch the initial offer price in about 4 to 5 years from now (Rs.10 per unit). It should be viewed as a long term investment. The quality of service and they way Pru ICICI attends to customers is too good, unlike a few other mutual funds. Another fund for long term investors is Pru ICICI Growth Fund. If you have a view of about 5 to 6 years investment horizon, this fund is suitable. It can provide stable and above average returns over this period.
In general, it is a good investment avenue. Never do the mistake of posting your investment applications directly to PruICICI offices. I burnt hands for the delay they took in processing the request. Instead, go via investment brokers. You not only save a lot of time but also can time the entry.
