I purchased a Hyundai Venue Diesel BS6, expecting reliability and peace of mind. However, over the last 2 years plus, I have received the “Diesel Filter Regeneration Required” warning three times. Each time, it disrupts my travel, wastes fuel, and forces me to take unnecessary workshop visits or highway drives just to clear the DPF.
This is a major design and communication failure. Hyundai never explained this crucial aspect at the time of purchase, nor do their service teams offer any preventive solutions. I drive mostly in city traffic, which is common for most Indian customers, yet the car seems unsuited for regular urban use.
I’ve come to learn that many Hyundai and Kia diesel vehicles are facing similar issues, but the company has taken no visible step to resolve or inform customers. This is disappointing for a brand that claims reliability.
If you’re planning to buy a Hyundai diesel car—especially for city driving—THINK TWICE. Hyundai should take responsibility and either improve the DPF system or inform potential buyers properly.
