I went there with a couple of friends. I'd booked a room for 3 people but when I got there, they told me I couldn't stay in the same room as the other two because my friends were women from another country.
When I asked them why, they weren't giving me a straight answer and told me to find some other place if I didn't agree to it. I've been traveling all over India with my friends and there isn't any rule like that. These stupid arseholes make up their own rules.
Furthermore the room they were giving the girls was not next to mine but in some other part of the building which I found highly suspicious. I would not go to this hotel if they offered me a room for free. It is not safe for women and I have better things to do than deal with people who're scum! There're a few hotels near the police station. We went to one of those and bargained and got a room for 100 rupees more per person but the room was much much better and the service extremely friendly.
