Honda are known for realiability and innovation. So it was obvious the latest offering (Jazz) was bound to generate interest. I was searching for what's going to be on offer on this new car model launch and below is what I found (courtsey https://hondacarindia.com)
I will go by my preferences in a car -
Safety
G-force control technology
No idea what it means but it seems to be in place to limit impact energy to occupant of car in event of collison
Airbags. It is going to be a standard feature on this car...good news...but it also means price range will be higher considering the way Honda chose to price their earlier offerings with these features
ABS with EBD
Guess this will available as an option
Design
Engine
1198cc iVtec will be standard across all trims, design to meet and exceed euro IV emission levels. Engine is expected to be rated for producing 90PS@6200 rpm with 11.2kgm torque kicking at 4800rpm
fuel economy
expected to be rated at 16km/litle. not sure if this will be valid on crowded city roads...but even if it is close to that figure (-2 or -3) with A/C, it would be good enough
price and value for money factor
As per various web feeds and news, expected price range for trim levels should be close to 6.8-7.3 lacs
I will add more details as I find it...looks to be a tough sell for honda unless they are able to keep the offering in a lower price bracket (6 lacs or under). Still since the indian market has evolved in small car segment where buyers look for value for money within lower budget, I'd say this car is not meant for B+ segment and would be more of a B++ segment offering where it has to compete with C segment cars available within the price bracket this car is going to be launched.
I would recommend this car given the safety features on offer and provided Honda can keep the prices lower at a range this car belongs...which will make it excellent value for money
