I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with Homelane was so frustrating that I feel compelled to share it to warn others. This company is an absolute nightmare to work with. If you're looking for professionalism, attention to detail, and reliable project management, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Here's why:


1. Basic Design Mistakes: From the very start, the designer missed several fundamental aspects of the design. It was clear that no proper attention was paid to the details, and many critical elements were either overlooked or poorly planned. I had to point out simple design flaws that should have been caught early on, which was incredibly disappointing.


2. Multiple Reworks Due to Design Errors: The mistakes didn't end with the initial designs. We had to go through multiple reworks on the materials and finishes due to the design errors. Each time, it was clear that these mistakes could have been avoided if the designer had done their job properly in the first place. The constant back and forth over corrections was time-consuming and completely unnecessary.


3. Absolutely No Project Management: One of the most frustrating aspects was the lack of project management. I found myself managing the project more than the so-called "project manager" assigned to us. Communication was poor, and there was no one overseeing the project timeline, resources, or the quality of work being done. This company completely failed to ensure that the project ran smoothly, leaving me to handle things on-site instead of them.


4. Course-Correcting Errors Instead of Preventing Them: Instead of having a proper plan in place to avoid mistakes, this company just kept course-correcting implementation errors as they went along. I can count many instances where work had to be redone because of poor planning or lack of oversight. Its frustrating to see how preventable these errors were, yet they happened because of a lack of foresight and attention to detail.


5. Unreliable Third-Party Carpentry Teams: The carpentry teams employed were third-party contractors who seemed only interested in rushing through the job to get their payment. The quality of their work was subpar, and they cut corners at every opportunity. The craftsmanship was lacking, and there was no commitment to doing things the right way. Their only goal was to finish as quickly as possible and move on.


6. No Quality Control as Promised: They promised quality control checks throughout the project, but that never happened. Once they finished, they just closed the project without any inspection or follow-up. The lack of QC meant that several issues were left unresolved, and it felt like they didnt care about ensuring the final product met any standard of quality.


7. Unrealistic Timeline 45-Day Promise is a Joke: They promised to complete the project in 45 days, but this timeline was completely unrealistic. The project was committed around April/May 2024 with an expectation to complete in 45 days, but by the first week of March 2025, I was still following up with them for fixing snags and unfinished tasks. It's now March, and Ive given up on getting any further work done. They made empty promises and failed to deliver anything close to what was agreed upon.


8. Unprofessionalism at Its Worst: From start to finish, this was an unprofessional experience. Its just a bunch of people who dont seem to care about ethics or customer satisfaction. Theyre only interested in taking your money and delivering as little as possible in return. The project was closed without my consent, and with Snags open.


In conclusion, I would never recommend this company to anyone. Their poor management, substandard craftsmanship, and total lack of attention to detail made this a nightmare of an experience. If you care about your home and want to work with a team thats professional, reliable, and dedicated to delivering quality work, do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all costs.
