I want to share my horrible experience with Himalayan Mysteries Tour Services so that others can avoid falling into the same trap. We booked a Katra to Kashmir trip through them, and from the beginning, we faced nothing but lies, mismanagement, and threats.
1. False Promises & Itinerary Manipulation
We booked through Neha Hatta (Sales Executive), who assured us that everything would be smooth.
We were promised houseboat stays, proper hotel bookings, and a comfortable journey but nothing went as planned.
After reaching Srinagar, they told us that our tour was handed over to another agency without informing us. The new agency was rude and unprofessional.
The itinerary was misleading they wrote one thing in the day-wise plan and something else at the bottom of the page. When we confronted them, they said, "It was a mistake."
2. Driver Misconduct & Safety Issues
Our driver picked up an extra passenger without informing us. When we complained, he ignored us.
He made excuses to delay our journey, saying roads were not good at night, hotels wouldnt allow check-in, etc.
The agency did not answer our calls or WhatsApp messages when we needed urgent help.
3. Payment Fraud & Threats
We were forced to pay money at unexpected times even on the midway of the road during the Sonmarg trip.
When we refused, they threatened to leave us stranded. They even told our driver to stop the car and force us to pay!
Despite the agreed price of ₹36, 000, they later added ₹1, 800 extra as "GST" and refused to refund any amount.
4. Hotel Payment Scam
In Gulmarg, we were stopped by hotel staff because Himalayan Mysteries had not paid our hotel charges.
They forced us to pay ₹5, 000 out of our pocket, saying, "If you dont pay, you will not be allowed to leave."
Again, Neha and her team ignored all our calls and messages.
5. No Bill, No Support, No Accountability
Even after paying ₹37, 800, they refused to give us a proper bill.
Their tone changed completely once we paid they became rude, unresponsive, and careless.
The candlelight dinner they promised? Never happened!
Final Warning
DO NOT BOOK with Himalayan Mysteries Tour Services.
They are fraudsters who manipulate travelers, take advance payments, and then trap them.
Once they get your money, they stop answering calls and leave you helpless in an unknown place.
We have shared our chat of final amount of all tour packages including all things and taxes but after the first payment, they have increased our amount mentioned as GST and also about houseboat stay mentioned in my itinerary and also we have asked for support and there was not a single response and support from Neha ji's side.
This trip was a lifelong lesson for us. We regret not trusting the negative reviews we had read earlier. Please learn from our mistake and avoid this agency at all costs!
