I purchased splendour plus from hyderabad on July 4th 2008 and after going on long tours and riding for almost 9000+ kms, I can suggest you that this bike ROCKS!!
When at first I started looking for a bike my options were always in hero honda as I wanted good looks, better mileage (as petrol prices went upto 57 per litre), and the reliability. I had to choose from Passion Plus, Splendour+, Splendour NXG (as I wanted in 90-100c range).I test drove all the three but somehow felt that Splendour+ has lot more comfort than anyone else.
*Fuel Consumption:*
It was excellent. It gave me 57 on city roads and 65 on long.Once I went for a long drive 240kms one way to test this bike. It was excellent. Filling the tank with only 8 litres, it was more than enough to ride both ways.
*Comfort*
This is what I didnt like about this bike. The width of the seat is small, and after going at once for 60-70 kms you gotta take a break for atleast 5mins. My friend on the back seat too felt the same. Hero Honda has to look into this matter very seriuosly.
*Handling and Control*
Cool!! I didnt feel the back tyres slip as you apply the breaks but as soon as I crossed the speed limit of 55 it used to vibrate, may be because it didnt had the First service.
*Looks:*
Again good!! Headlight can be changed a bit as its too small, rest everything is perfect!!
All in all I would rate this bike as 9.5 out of 10
