My family have been using Hawkins since decades.
Recently our 3 liter Hawkins retired which lasted good 16 years. We replaced it with Hawkins 3 liter contura and found it better then the earlier.
Pros.
The bigger base compare to previous cylindrical models cooks quicker as absorbs more heat.
The brand value gives you confidence compare to other inferior brands.
Remains sturdy when placed on shelf or table
Low height compare to previous cylindrical model, easy to store.
Cons.
In previous cylindrical cooker, we use to make cakes and with little tilt, the cake use to come out. With this one due to bigger base and cone top, we cant use it to make cakes.
Not a big issue but it's little difficult cleaning from inside compare to cylindrical models.
I am happy with my purchase and since generations we trust Hawkins. I've never seen a different brand Pressure cooker in my home since born. In my lift, it's the 3rd Hawkins we own and I am 40. So you can understand how long lasting these cookers are.
