Hotel stay on 2nd and 3rd of Mar 2023. Review on Hari Mahal Palace, Jaipur

Hotel bookings were done way in advance and was paid for fully. We reached about a day and half late.We didnt mind though and called up the hotel in advance informing about the late arrival and that there would be no change in bookings. Do not go by the pictures with which they advertise on their website. They show you only pictures of their heritage wing. They will most probably throw you into their service apartment which they fancily term as New modern wing which is basically a three BHK apartment of which one bedroom will be provided to you which will be nowhere near what you booked or paid for. Take note of the fact that there are plenty of heritage properties in Jaipur hence none of them are very costly. If you complain about the room, the moron on the front desk who knows nothing about customer service or has any business sense whatsoever will ask you to check out and say that a refund will be provided. Note that this fellow will not refund the money directly to your account. Since it was booked via a third party, he will probably claim that he has refunded the money to them and will keep you haggling with both parties. To avoid that I asked to speak to his manager and finally had the entire apartment allotted to us , chose the bedroom of our choice, had the other two rooms locked up and the key handed over to us. We had the entire living room to ourselves with the kitchen area and the bedroom. We avoided the hotel restaurant since we didnt want to generate anymore revenue for them and chose to eat from local restaurants instead. Their TV is the box TV in which only one channel runs not that we wanted to use it since we used the room more to crash at night. Speaking of night time, sleep will be zero with the railway station being just close by. You might as well be in a underground tunnel with the train running over you. The bathroom doesnt have a basic soap tray, unclean buckets and forget other modern amenities.We had a good time touring the city, entered and exited through the back gate not having to see the the idiots face again at the front desk, handed over all four keys at the time of departure and left without any pleasantries. Good riddance. Again 1 star because there isnt a zero rating option.
