Have been using Funds India for 2-3 years now. Before using this site, I had bought a few ULIPs and MFs. However the paper work for each is a boring affair.
So I thought of going for an agent. After a bit of looking around, I realised this site served my purpose as it would consolidate my investments(a major relief, once your investments start to increase), decrease my paperwork and most importantly I can make my own decisions(with of course, few inputs from their advisors).
After the initial KYC and mandate part is finished, you can manage everything else on your own. Their emails and smses are very prompt after each investment and I have never had any missed investments.
Also I can set portfolios and their targets which I find very helpful(Eg daughter education fund separate from retirement fund, etc). The site itself provides an analysis of how much investment needs to be done above the funds available at present to reach the target. Great!
I believe they get commission as any other agent(nothing wrong in that) and if you want you can always invest directly with MFs. But then you have manage portfolios separately.I don't use their stock platform. I also have shifted my e-insurance to their site, but that itself is a confusing issue.Over all extremely pleased with what I am able to do through Fundsindia.
