“Friends”

A Sunday to chillout -what does one do? …I wait for Sundays as I watch “Friends” on my DVD. Once it starts I don’t bother about anything else. I am just glued to the TV and watch it non stop from morning to evening. I take gaps in between just to have my lunch / Tea/ Snacks. Others spend their Sundays by playing cricket or watch cartoons, some have hobbies too, but I do this only. I am so obsessed with it that I make myself unavailable to my friends and relatives on Sundays.

This serial of six friends : Ross, Chandler, Joey, Monica, Phoebe, Rachelle

I don’t think I need to introduce them to you….they have brought evolution in the TV entertainment in AMERICA. There is hardly anyone who doesn’t know about the friends series. Atleast I have seen it innumerable times. Till today my only way of relaxation is watching friends on DVD or Star World or Zee Café (former Zee English). I can watch it over and over again as I never get bored of them…

Out of the six I love ‘Joey’ the most. He takes time to understand a joke. Due to his carelessness and zero sense of timing he loses on lot of auditions and roles… He loves to eat and hates to share food…On a date a girl tries to share the food from his plate and he loses his cool saying that “nobody takes Joey’s food”. In his apartment his fridge is filled with old food to clean the fridge he eats up all the stale food instead of disposing them. Rachelle and Phoebe want to stay with him as he lets them be how they are and not like Monica who keeps rules in her place and hates a messy house.

Next cool guy is Ross. He is a scientist and hence very confident of himself. Once Chandler tells him that it is impossible for anybody to name the 52 states of America. Ross takes up that challenge and says that he will not have dinner till he writes down all the state names. After some time he gets paranoid that he cannot guess all the names. He makes a list and hands over to Chandler and starts eating his dinner at two in the morning when chandler reminds him that he has repeated one state twice.

All these guys have brought a lot of style in fashion industry. They introduced new hair styles for men all over the world. Rachelle was the one to get in Straight hair for females. This serial became so famous that they started charging 1 million each every episode to their producers. No other serial has got so famous. This is the first serial in which they discuss openly about sex, and living-in couple concept is so normal for them. Single mother / father is not a taboo.
