Today is the 53rd day of the year, with 312 more to go for the New Year. Why am I saying that? That’s because today I am celebrating **my 25th birthday**. This is the most important day of the year for me. I was born this day, a Sunday on a bright afternoon of 1981. Sunday being a day for lazy birds like me, I have been lazy writing reviews lately. I thought why not break my laziness with a review describing what my birthday is all about.
I always wish my birthday should fall on a Sunday. That’s the best time for me to throw a party for my buddies. But since this year my birthday is falling in mid-week, I have a *bahana* to skip the party at least for this year. Will my plan succeed? I will keep my fingers crossed. And if it fails, at best I wont return in the evening to reply to your comments hehe.(Bad joke, I know!)
How has my birthday gone so far? My phone started ringing well before my alarm clock this morning thanks to calls from my cousins. Well, even as I write this review I am attending phone call after phone call from my sisters and well wishers asking for(rather I should say – demanding) a party. So far I have stuck to my guns and refused it, how far it can go remains to be seen. I have a few things on my wish list and if I get at least one of them today, who knows I may just throw a party in the evening. What is my wish list? Read on!
**Chocolates**
Hey, its my birthday and I want my chocolate bar! My 13 yr old cousin is such a smart girl that she somehow cajoles me into buying her a chocolate every time I visit her. The way she then eats, licks and slurps on it is tempting enough for me to go for that chocolate bar. But you know, I am the typical older brother and let her eat it all.
Can I add **chocolate cake** to it too? Yes I can, because it is my birthday and my review! The most special birthday I have had in my life was my 21st birthday when my *bhabhi* brought a chocolate cake for me even as I was recovering from jaundice. One day of splurging on it didn’t do me any harm then as I was on my medicines regularly.
**Books**
Now this is a wish list within a wish list. I love books, and if left alone, you will find me diving deep into books. Even in books I look for a certain category that I want to read. I am particularly enchanted by Indian authors and have made a start by recently buying a collection of books of RK Narayan. Then I also look forward to read biographies/autobiographies of the well known people from around the world.
**Go Goa!**
What can be a better birthday than to celebrate it in the sun and sand of a Goa beach? I first went to Goa nearly 3 years back and I simply loved it. I had resolved that I would return to Goa soon, at a time when career and money will not be a problem for me. That time is coming soon and I am sure of it. Hopefully in a year or two from now I would be throwing a birthday party at a resort in Goa.
**Tintin Comics**
The child in me refuses to die. As a kid and in my early teens, I used to drool over Tintin comics. He was the ultimate comic-book hero for me. I used to read those 62 page comics over and over again in my summer vacations. Looking back, I cant help but smile at myself for how much I loved reading those comics. Somebody, pleases buy me the entire collection, I promise I’ll do anything for you!
**Blessings from God**
Last but foremost on my wish list is god’s blessings on me. I do not visit temples often but I have always kept my faith in god and believed that he will be with me during the most crucial times of my life. I pray to god that he showers me with all his love and blessings.
I wish for a lot more in my life. I may or may not get them but then what are desires for after all? If you don’t have a desire, you will never get what you want. And it is one of my desires to be happy and spread happiness to everyone I know. Is that asking for a lot? I guess not. I am constantly looking for happiness, however big or small it may be but it surely adds a few good memories to my life. My birthday too is one such day.
I can go on and on talking about my desires but that will make the review all the more boring.(Yeah, I know its boring already). I guess I should stop here even as my phone has started ringing again and again. As a footnote I may add that I share my birthday with great American President **George Washington**(born this day in 1732) and Fijian golfer **Vijay Singh**(1963).
And just in case, if anyone of you share your birthday with me, here’s wishing you **a very happy birthday!*
