I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the so-called "painless" ear piercing service advertised by your hospital. Trusting these claims, I made enquiries and booked an appointment for my 8 month old baby in the ENT section. The procedure was done by Dr. Arya ( ENT).
We arrived for the procedure, provided the gold earrings for piercing, and your staff took them inside. An ointment was applied to my baby's ears, but we were informed that pain would still be presentcontradicting the very basis of your advertised service. What followed was completely unacceptable. Video of the procedure was also taken.
The doctor performing the procedure was clearly inexperienced. She repeatedly pierced my baby's ears with a needle, causing unbearable pain. Eventually, her hands started to shivera clear indication of her lack of confidence and skill. Finally, she claimed that the gold earrings were the issue, stating that the stem was too big and that we needed to find different gold earrings. If that were the case, why wasnt this assessed before the procedure began? Instead, my baby endured repeated failed attempts and unnecessary suffering.
This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable from a reputed medical institution. Your misleading advertisement and lack of competent service caused my child pain and distress. However, the reality was far from what was promised.
My baby endured significant pain, and the procedure was not successfully completed. Instead of a smooth, painless experience as advertised, my child was left with unnecessary suffering and inflammation around her ears. This is completely unacceptable.
When we reported this incident to the PRO and manager, Ms. Lekha S. Menon, she did not take our concerns seriously. Infact she was completely unaware of what was happening in the hospital. She did not even know that painless needle piercing was being performed. Instead, she kept asking us questions about the procedure, assuming only gunshot piercing was available. This level of ignorance from a senior manager is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the hospital's internal communication and management.
Your advertisement is clearly misleading, creating false expectations for people who trust your hospital. It is irresponsible to promote a service that does not align with actual patient experiences. I strongly urge you to remove your deceptive advertisements and take accountability for this incident. I also expect a formal response to this serious incident.
