There are about 250, may be more, retail chemists' shops in Amritsar. Small outlets cater to needs of the locality where these are situated as per common ailments and according to the family doctors. Specialist and senior doctors prescribe latest medicines. For latest medicines the attendants or relatives of the patient approach, recently celebrated 100 years old shop known as Dr Badri Nath & Sons, Chemists and Druggists, Queens Road, Amritsar popularly know as Crystal Restaurant Chowk with a firm belief that all prescribed medicines will be available there. And, believe me not, such belief is not belied or dumb founded. The soft spoken owners will make all out efforts to make the all the prescribed medicines available.
What if they dont have They, themselves, will enquire it from all shop in the vicinity if they have that medicine. If found they will feel satisfied.
What if not available The manager or the proprietor will call the doctor on phone and ask for any alternative medicine, if the specialist suggests some other medicine, they will provide the same after convincing the purchaser that his doctor agrees for this medicine.
