*If you want to watch a teenage flick entwined with a serial killer thriller then this movie is for you.As soon as we heard that PRASADZ was playing Disturbia we booked the saturday afternoon show. We were quite surprised to find that the movie could attract only a few movie goers although it was the first week of screening in Hyderabad. Maybe the name of the movie is not so inviting!!
The plot of the movie is quite good. A 17 year old kid, Kale who has lost his father a year ago is going through a tough time coping with reality. One fine day in school he hits his spanish teacher real bad and is sentenced 3 months of house arrest.
He has a device attached to his leg which keeps track of his whereabouts and does not allow him to step outside his house.
Kale is an average ameriacn kid, fond of videogames, TV, Doughnuts, has all sorts of gadgets, cameras and most importantly a pair of **BINOCULARS.** After he is bored of playing with his XBox and watching television, he decides to juice up his life with reality.
The audience soon realizes his strong observing power and also the dark secrets of the neighbourhood. He is joined in his past-time by his Chinese/Korean friend and his new sexy neighbour Ashley. This however takes a serious turn when Kale finds a Mustang in his neighborhood which according to the news is similar to the one driven by a serial killer. If I tell you anything more, then I would be spoiling the fun for you, so find out the rest yourself.
The **best thing** about the movie was its pace.It begins like an American teen movie but suddenly turns into a fast paced thriller post intermission. I loved the way Kale marks the boundary beyond which he is not allowed to go. There are some very romantic moments as well in the film between Kale and Ashley. The three naughty kids from the neighbourhood also add to the fun !!!!
There are some obvious **flaws** in the movie as well. The editing is not up to the mark because you can see the actor's mike very clearly in quite a few shots in the middle of the movie.
Overall a good one time watch!!
