Basic Router with no Life. Review on Digisol DG-HR3400 Wireless Router

Bought this HR 3400 router in 2015 December for Rs 1097 from Flipkart. Even though there were TP Link, D Link and several other known companies, I chose Digisol since I used to mindlessly support Indian companies.

The router installation was simple. It even came with a CD with drivers. Plugin- Install drivers from CD- Done. The router worked fine. For a month. Then it developed problems. Used to frequently cut off from net. Even if internet is accessible via modem LAN. The router somehow lost connection. Since I was in Bangalore and my parents just need net in their phones, we used the restart method of turning off and on the router. Since the router was on 1st floor and they had knee problems, we found the reboot option from digisol portal menu. I kept a bookmark on their chrome for the same and asked them to click reboot and wait for a minute whenevr net is off.

Whenever I'm at home, I used to contact customer care. They seldom pickup. Most of the time, they ask to reboot. And once they sent me a software update via a link. I updated from their site, another site. No matter what I do router will work only for a few hours after a reboot. The router used to become very hot during use.

In between the router adapter stopped working. Had to buy twice. By 2020 march, I decided to go for a good company. Got a TP Link router for 2k and it is working 24x7 since last 2 years without a complaint. Also both were 300Mbps. TP link has better range and stronger signal than this nonsense thing. So if you're spending hard earned money for a durable product get a well known branded one. Patriotism won't fill the stomach. Made in China Pakistan Vietnam or Korea doesn't matter. Quality matters. If you're selecting Indian brand verify if they're good. V guard, Bajaj, Usha etc are good for electricals. Not sure if any Indian is good in electronics. Use your money carefully. Always get well known quality brands. Even if they're bad, service would be available.
