As the name shows, it is Ganapati baapa's temple. Situated near to Shanivarwada(a famous fort in Pune). thousands of devotees including political people, celebrities of bollywood come here in Ganesh Chaturthi festival.

Ganesha has real gold ornaments, which are donated by one or another devotees of Ganesha. This temple got the name from Gagadusheth Halwai who was a sweet maker from Karnataka, and he built this temple in around 1890s when their guru recommends them to build it after their son's death. So it is older than 100+ years. Ganesh idol is very beautiful. During Ganesh Chaturthi for some days, they put ganesh idol in temporary built place outside of temple as there would be so much of rush to gain visulization of Ganesha Idol.

The place is little or more crouded, the lanes are too heavily traffic full too. Other than that, this place is very nice for mental peace. This Temple trust is among richest trust in the state.

It's kind of Chamatkarik idol of Ganesha when you stand face to face for Darshan of Ganpati baapa.

Must visit place for tourists of Pune.
