Before switching to a local digital cable TV provider, I was an user of Videocon SD d2h service user. Though it was costlier than local cable operators and also provided less number of channels and no sports channels, we were using it because of no reason.
It charged high for the normal TV channels which proves their profit motive. I regularly subscribed to the Super Gold Lite pack which was priced at Rs. 216(Before 13-14 months or so). The service was working fine when I received an SMS from the company which stated an offer to do a prepaid recharge for twelve months and get one month of extra service for free. It was a good offer and so, I recharged with Rs. 2600 Rupees approximately and the recharge reminder displayed the balance service of 13 months left. About after three or four months, I casually opened the recharge reminder again and there, my service was reduced my about 1 and a half month. I did not get the reason and so I called the customer care who bluntly told that Sir, the prices have increased now and so your validity has been decreased.
I argued a lot with him that this is pure cheating as I did the recharge at the price that prevailed then, so why should I be charged with higher tariffs now. He had no answer and declared that these are the Terms and Conditions of the company and nothing can happen now.
Annoyed of this, after the completion of the validity of my plan, I got my connection disconnected and now I am using local TV cable which is offering more channels just @ 180 p.m.
Videocon is not worth it!
