Cricket in India is always considered to be the first sport. No matter whether we win or loose or the matches are fixed, Cricket will always continue to be the top priority sports in India. I was trying to figure out a reason for this. Whats makes this lengthy and time consuming sports so popular while other games like Soccer and Tennis takes a back seat. The reason is quite obvious. Cricket is the only sport where we can achieve a global level of competency, Other wise starved of achievements in other events. Even though we have get some recognition in Chess and Tennis, Those being an individual event don't get much attention. Now the question is Is Cricket killing other sports in the Country? I would agree to some extend as we Cricket crazy people are worth several Million Bucks to the advertisers who capitalize on the vast popularity and turns a Blinds eye to other sports. After all its all about money and not about team commitment or anything. So its now time to pay attention to some other sports and help revive the other ravaged sports in our country.
