Today's review is about yet another lovely beach in Goa - this time a beach in South Goa, named Colva Beach! Well, all beaches in Goa are lovely and not only me, all visitors like them.

This beach is about 8-10kms from a major town in South Goa, called Margao. If you are in Mapusa/Panaji - take the Panjim-Margao highway to reach to Margao. If you have your own vehicle, well and good, if not take an express bus from Panjim to Margao, get down at New Kadamba Bus Terminus. From, here it's best to take a cab to Colva.

This beach is more or less same as most other beaches in Goa. Best is to travel during evenings as it would be very hot during day time. There are not many shacks here as compared to other North Goa beaches.

I am not going to write here as to what you should do here - that is going to be each one's personal choice. For me, I just like to go and sit in the sand watching the sun going down.

Most stuff which one gets on any beach are available here, Ice cream stalls, hawkers selling peanuts, water sports, bars, restaurants and so on.

The beach can easily be done in a day's trip, however if you want to stay longer there are few hotels available here, very close by to the beach.

From here, you can also travel to some of the other close by beaches like Majorda, Utorda, Sernabatim, Benaulim.

Piece of advice: If you have no experience of swimming in sea water and/or if you are not used to high/low tide nature of sea - it is advised that you don't venture too deep into sea waters for swimming. All beaches in Goa have lifeguards on duty - however it is better to be safe than sorry.

If you happen to have lunch/dinner - go for Goan fish curry or any other seafood preparations. It is advisable not to try any special cuisine like north Indian/South Indian/Chinese etc. Best to stick to Goan choice.

Best time to visit: Now-a-days tourists come to Goa round the clock, so I am confused what to advice. Touristic season is usually from Sep/Oct to Jan. In Monsoons or post monsoon(July.Aug) is also good, in case you would like to walk on the beach just after a rainy shower. Feb-May/June - going to be very hot here.
