''CR'' folks is the same place located opposite Regal cinema and very popular in the area. Yes you guessed it right''CAFÉ ROYAL''. The new look with a new name (short and sweet). CR has now undergone a tremendous change with the restaurant completely re-done.
This place was established in on June 22,1995 and was very famous for its sizzlers among the younger generation, especially for its disc Headquarters (HQ) which I guess many of the bombayites would agree with. CR also got famous because of the visit made by the former US President Bill Clinton with his daughter Chelsea when they visited India in March 2000. But now one can look forward to an absolutely new look of this once famous restaurant that closed for renovations, for sometime and re-launched on July 1, 2003 which is now slowly gaining its lost glory.
The restaurant now specializes in Contemporary European Cuisine with some wines and International beverages. The menu offers some exotic dishes like cheese baked potatoes, Chillie prawns, Tempura vegetables, grilled chicken on rice flakes, four leaf salsds, potato cakes with mozzarella, chicken pepper pot etc. I guess the menu is extensive and offers each palate its choice. There is choice of deserts too with some world coffees like Java Estate, Ethiopian Sidamo, Brazilian Santos etc. In a nutshell, a very cozy atmosphere. Good Service. Prices range from Rs85/- to Rs 255/-.
All in all the food, atmosphere, and the new ambience gives a very lasting memory and truly unique experience.
