The Wave system was purchased for my kids - this particular model helped as it was very easy to set up and can also be moved around the house. Also, as it can be operated only from remote, there is little that children can do to damage the main unit. Also, for its size and weight, the unit has good reproduction.
However, would not recommend it if you do not have a space constraint, and the units need not be moved around the place. As there are better systems available in the market which cost in the range of 15K and above, and which can produce better sound. But yes, they are far far larger and not so easy to move from one place to another.
A free unit which came with the system helps in playing songs from laptop or PC through a transmitter which gets into the PC USB port and a receiver which plugs into the unit. However, there is additional power supply needed at the receiver end. Also, I feel the reproduction quality is not as good compared to the Altec Lansing speakers attached to my PC.
