THE WAIT finally ends here for BlackBerry smartphone enthusiasts. BlackBerry manufacturer, Research In Motion's (RIM) latest offering, the BlackBerry Bold 9780 has already started selling in India, if reports are to be believed. The phone, which is priced at Rs 26, 900 is a slightly enhanced version of the BlackBerry 9700 which was launched last year in the Indian markets.
BlackBerry 9780 comes with upgraded features such as twice the amount of RAM (512 MB) when compared to 9700. Its 5 mega pixel, auto focus camera also got a facelift with flash and image stabilization when compared to the 3 mega pixel camera that comes in BlackBerry 9700.
The phone which runs on BlackBerry OS 6.0, boasts of an improved interface faster WebKit based browser and improved music and photos applications. Some other features which been introduced in BlackBerry 9780 are:
Screen: 2.44 inch screen with a 480x360 resolution and color output of 65K colors.
Hardware Navigation: A touch-sensitive optical track pad.
Internal Hardware: BlackBerry 9780 comes with 512MB of RAM and is powered by a 624MHz processor. It also has 256MB of internal storage and supports microSD cards up to 32GB.
