once you cross the hush bash of Haldwani(i would suggest to take BYPASS) & KATHGODAAM & start with uphill journey, do get your Car checked for tyre air pressure & get its tank filled at Kathgodaam, as you ve'compony's run petrol bunks till foothills only.

The most important thing to remember for the first time DRIVERS on hills is, that your car should have good brakes, the tyre condition to be good(as their are chances of skidding, if it rains) the lights should be working properly, it helps you driving up/down at night it helps in locating other vehicle as it is all criss cross on hills.So from Kathgodaam you reach bhawali in way you ll cross Jeolikot, Dogaon(offers good points for tea/food) you reach almora & 30km from almora is BINSAR

YOU DO NOT HAVE MANY GOOD OPTIONS HERE TO STAY.I would suggest & back TOURIST REST HOUSE(TRH) run by( KMVN)KUMAON MANDAL VIKAS NIGAM, As you get to witness the real beauty of BINSAR.(BINSAR'S WILD LIFE SANCTUARY ENCOMPASSES AN AREA OF ABOUT 45/50sq. KM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIMALAYAS)

The moment you cross the FOREST'S DEPTT barrier into BINSAR its an offence to honk or even play the music system of your car & avoid night driving to the rest house as you are not even allowed to use lights in the forest area.

This is a place "where only the early bird get's the worm" You have to be an early riser in order to witness the MAGIC OF THIS PLACE., **IT'S A HEAVEN FOR BIRD WATCHERS TOO
