Pulsar 150 or Unicorn ??
May 22, 2008 06:39 PM 2720 Views

Mileage:

Comfort:

Reliability:

Road Grip:

Appeal:

I want to buy a bike in 150 cc segment; I am confused between P 150 and Unicorn?

It’s a very common dilemma among new buyers. Please help me out

My preferences/ requirements are:

*Mileage, Looks, & least maintenance

Daily travel of 30-35 KM in Bangalore traffic

Budget 70 K, *

Both the bikes have equal supporters. I will not be changing bike often so I want a bike that can be kept for longer period say 5-6 years. The bike

should be powerful for daily usage.

Also I am confused for colour. I want to buy Blue colour but few of my friends

say the colour looses grace n luster after few months and the re-sale

value of a rare colour like blue would be less.

Please suggest which bike & colour should I choose ? I'll be thankful for

your inputs. Or if there is any other bike that fits my requirements then do

suggest that too.

Thanks & Regards

Hemant

Comments on Bajaj Pulsar DTSi Review

I think you could have asked for a review, instead of giving a review.

I have Bajaj Pulsar (25 month) and it works great. Not sure of the latest unicorm model, but earlier ones were no match to Pulsar.

Pulsar
---------
Pros:
1. Looks
2. Stability (good balance, wide tyres)
3. Riding Comfort (good shock absorbers)
4. Mileage
5. Pickup/speed is above average in the segment
Cons:
1. Bit noisy/rough engine
2. Ge...ar shift is not so smooth compared to Uni

Uni
----
Pros
1. Smooooooth engine
2. Smooooooth gear shift
3. Quality of build/parts and durability of engine/gearbox
4. Good pickup/speed
Cons:
1. May not be as stable as Pulsar, esp. on rough road/braking
2. I think mileage is marginally less compared to Pulsar

This is my personal view. Open for discussion further.

Dear Hemant,

I suggest you forget about both the Pulsar and the Unicorn and simply go for Hero Honda Hunk. It has the quality and the looks to go the extra mile. It will also give you better mileage and complete peace of mind. Just get yo...urself into the Hero Honda showroom in person. The bike will do the rest of the talking. Trust me...  Read More
