Hi All

This is my second review, 1 week after the first service.

Mileage

First thing is the mileage, it's around 55kmpl in city+highway conditions. Mileage is not as advertised(65 kmpl).

The main thing that should help the mileage is that we can drive at 30kmph even in 4th gear without much knocking.

Rating:**

Comfort

Recently I had a chance to drive at Splendor and Victor GLX. and I've to say that both of them doesn't feel comfortable after driving the Discover. The saddle height is very much comfortable for most drivers. But for taller guys(more than 6,6.2 feet) this will not be as comfortable as some of the other bikes.

Rating:****

Smoothness

Not as smooth as expected by me.At the speed of 50 the bike is smooth. But if we cross 60 there is a bit of vibration. As I haven't driven any other bike above 50kph,i dont know whether it is common with every bike.

Rating:**

Gears

Performs well with 4 gears. But badly needs a 5th gear(especially at high speeds). Also gear shifting is a bit hard and the noise while shifting the gear is more compared to other bikes.

Rating:**

Pickup & Speed

This is the area that it'll have a edge over its competitors(ofcource in its segment)

I haven't gone upto the max speed advertised(110 kmph) Before the first service I had maintained less than 50kph. But I felt it difficult to keep it under 50. In high ways it zooms past 50 in no time. I've to very cautious to keep it under 50. Now after the first service, I went past 85kph and I've to say the bike was not shaking and was always in control at this speed. This is because of the weight(a bit heavy compared to other bikes in this segment).

Rating:****

Other Features

ES: No other bike in this segment offers.

Headlight: Powerful than most bikes. Best in its class

Final Word:

Nice blend of Power and mileage that too at the cost of 48K (On Road Chennai).

So ppl Looking for bikes between 100 and 125 cc, and in the range of 50K, Go for Discover

**********************************************************

Hi all

It's been 5 days now, after I bought the Discover DTS-i. I want to share my experience with all of u.

Before I go into the Discover saga, I want to say that I wanted to go for WIND 125. From August I?ve taken test ride of all the bikes, Passion plus, Victor GLX, Fiero FX, Caliber 115, and Wind 125; and I felt that Fiero FX was the best in the pick up( of course it should be because its 150cc). But I was impressed with the Wind. It was Miles away from its 125cc or less competitors. It was the best bike with the Power + Mileage combination.

But soon the Discover hype was started. Also from the reviews in this site, many have written that Discover would be the best option in its class. So I thought I?d wait for Discover to launch, and then decide between Wind and Discover. I should say that it was a Long wait. After its launch I went for a test ride and felt it was good. According to me Discover was ON PAR with Wind in Pickup, Mileage, Comfort and Styling.

I opted for Discover because Bajaj is going to stop production of Wind in India, and it was only for Export. Bad that Bajaj is doing this.

But I must say the replacement for Wind is not an ordinary product from Bajaj. Discover because of its Fresh design, pickup, Mileage, cost and many added features, is all set to dominate the Executive segment.

The only disadvantage that I can tell with this bike is the lack of 5th gear. The gearing seems to be a bit hard. But nothing can be perfect; at least Bajaj is trying its best to be perfect, first with Pulsar, and now with Discover.

Finally I want to say one thing. Many people are trying to compare Discover with Pulsar; both are in a different segment. So comparison of bikes with its class would be ideal.

I?ll write my next review after my 1st service.

Happy biking
