Pros: Better responsiveness(when upgrading frm an iPad2), pictures & videos more enjoyable, easier for reading
Cons: Expensive($150 more than I'd like to pay), the Nexus7 makes better value money
Why is it that the iPad mini just makes everything sexy? Even something as a second hand car on Gumtree!
I write this review from the perspective of someone upgrading from an iPad 2 to an iPad mini 3 with retina display. I t is a great upgrade particularly in speed from it's previous iPad 2 days. For a simple person like myself, the greatest gratification is from the quicker responsiveness to opening and closing apps, and the crystal clear screen from the retina display. Reading on the iPad mini 3 is also much more enjoyable as it is lighter. Bringing it around is also easier, and it doesn't cause a sore shoulder after a day of moving around town with it in my handbag.
The Wi-Fi is a lot better on the iPad mini 3 as well. It picks up much quicker, weaker wi-fi signals compared to the iPad 2.
The price is a bit too much to pay but isn't it alwasy the case with Apple products? If you are not fussed about brand or are able to switch from Apple to Google products easily, I would recommend the Google Nexus 7. It may not look or'feel' as sexy in your hands, but hey - beauty is subjective. On top of that, you'll save about$100 at least.
