Just for namesake the alipore zoo is now known for. Not many people are visiting there because they know once they enter into the zoo, only trees and blank lawns are there. Animals have been shifted for their good health or might have extinct staying inside.
It covers a huge area of land and contains animals that are not well maintained. I never get it why government doesn't take care of such things. In other countries, people are adopting animals so that there won't be any harm if left outside and here in India, once it filled with animals, and rest of the years making people an owl doing thug stuffs.
