It’s needless to say “oops! I did it again".
31st of December, I was sitting in my office .at around 3.30pm Sym called me up & asked about the plan if any for the day, [as my mommy had said Uchchu, Pa never asked you to shed your adventures. you just have to balance them with ur work now.]
I asked my niece & nephew to get ready and the plan was for Tivoli Gardens MEHROLI., I reached home as per the time frame bang at 4.30 we left for the venue few kms from home at APOLLO HOSAPITAL'S RED LIGHT.THE EVIL WAS EVERY WHERE.THEEE DILLI TRAFFIC.I murmured yar itni bheed mai toh mar jayege.isse achcha toh SHIMLA YA NAINITAL HOTA. ;-).& the nail was hit both the young guns were with me. MAMU CHALOOO.
We came back to home cooked a few stories that we are going to sariska.phir chup chap woolens bhare & we rocked the NH.
At 11.30pm, we had dinner at Gajrula. 100 km away from Dili and about 175 km before Nainital.
So this is clear that we cruised our way into the New Year with a speed of 140km/hr. Muradabad expressway was fun, as in the visibility was ZERO. Thanks to Raja Indra for fog and drizzle.
In a nutshell, please know that we covered 140 km in 3 hours with our eyes closed. Kyoki khula rakh ke kerte bhi kya dikh toh kuch nai raha tha. all credit goes to Uday, Fauzi and Sana, they kept the mouth mill churning as they have kept enough supplies.
At 4, we started our journey uphill wishing every breathing soul APPIE NEW YEAR and they replied back. Bow! Bow!
Aise mein ek baat yaad aagai ki, "JAB SARA JAG SOTA HAI TOH, KHALID HIGHWAY PE HOTA HAI!"
We were the last one to bid adue to 2009, but the first one to greed the first sunray of 2010 on mall road.now the larger question was to find a room as all the biggies were already booked till 3rd of Jan, so we started hunting for one and started haunting those in bed; lol!
But luck was in our favor and we were at the gates of AKANSHA RESORTS though the place does not belong to star category but is fabulous, as the kind of ambience they offer and that to on such moderate rates is a shot.
We took a four-bedded family suite at 3200 on CP meal plan.
Room was quite big with 8 inches coir mattress & mink blanket with polyfill pillows. it was also equipped with a mini kitchenette having a microwave and a mini fridge with room service round the clock. The food although had no frills attached but was tasty in a homely kind of way its only drawback is that they have no geysers but they compensate by providing hot water on demand(a boiler is in the pipeline).AKANSHA is at such a location that you cover it all like12 kms left is Nainital, 6 kms rite is Naukuchiyatal, 3 kms down is Sattal and 14 kms uphills is Padampur, famous for its scenic beauty and back roads.
One could always enjoy nature walk from AKANSHA, it’s in abundance all around it, for adventurous at heart like us (ME).
Rock climbing, Horse riding and Para-gliding is around the corner and add ons this time were my niece and nephew, the kids were full of energy they had a blast of time they enjoyed boating in all the four lakes, did horse riding, cycling, LIT BON FIRES DURING THOSE COOL NIGHTS. and what not.
I enjoyed the hospitality of the MEHRA family (the owners).they gave me an additional discount of 20% on their menu. MAINE JAM KE KHAYA BUT MY BAD LUCK WAS VERY STRONG COULD NOT GET HAJMOLA. ha ha ha ha.!
(NOTE:- THIS PROPERTY FALLS IN BETWEEN BHIMTAL AND NAINITAL IN A PLACE CALLED MEHRAGAON. To reach take the diversion for Bhimtal, from Kathgodam, after reaching Bhimtal drive further 4 kms to Bhawali and EUREKA. YOU ARE THERE…!)
