I got around to reading this while on holiday in Delhi. My brother had the book on his shelf and said it was great.
I am not from Mumbai so this was an insight into a crazy mad city.
The characters are very real and memorable and the plots and twists imaginative.
The poems are the best as they are tight and compact.
Whoever edited this book didnt do it justice as there are typos.
The language is very authentically Mumbaiyya- atleast like the movies you see.
For someone so young (24 when she wrote this book) I must say what perception and control of language. Its clear that she knows the city very well and this book will both scare you and enamour you at the same time.
Helen Eleven and Munna are my favs. Such vivid people.
Make a great movie.
Pity the beautiful Ms Deshpande who I loved in Bada Din married and left the screen. If she does write another book I wont wait this long to read it!
