Am driving an Opel Astra 1.7TD for the last three years. Done 33000km. Sturdy build and real pleasure to drive long distance. City 10km/lit and Highway an un believable 16km/lit consistantly. I have done extensive travel in South India. The road grip is excellent and handling very good. Suspension is good. Noise levels quite low for a Diesel and one cannot make out Diesel or Petrol!
Both rear and front seats ergonomics in my opinion is the best in this category of cars.
Except for one major replacement of the AC condenser no major repairs. Serviced regularly as per Opel recommendation. Service provided by the dealer good.
Overall am really satisfied with my buy..OPEL ASTRA 1.7TD.
