Scorpion King has no relation to the movie. I saw this movie simply because the trailer looked intriguing.But then looks are deceptive!!
Firstly the title has no relation to the actual story except one scene where he gets bitten by the scorpion and survives. The rock all the time fights in the movies , maybe the action buffs will be glued to the screen. But apart from the action there was no story line at all. The rock (as his name implies) has acted like a ROCK and there are hardly any expressions on his face except the famous twitch of the eyebrow!!
The scocerer(Kelly Hu) is half the time , half naked in the movie. Film makers should know by now that the public is not foolish enough to be impressed by lot of body show. It was expected that by showing Kelly Hu , half naked all the times, the movie would be a hit. Sex may sell, but only if its a good story. If the base /foundation is not strong, the walls can never stand.
Despite some impressive action scenes, the movie is a total bore and wooden acting by the Rock does not help at all.
Certain scenes where Kelly Hu is tested to prove her faithfulness to the King by puttin her hand in jars of posionous snakes was impressive and when the snake twists on her hand.
The Rock does need some serious acting classes. He maybe be damm good in WWF, but his acting leaves a lot to be desired.
A good story will always be a hit regardless of the cast and budget.
