I can't say how it takes up in Mumbai, but in Delhi it has been the best so far (of course recently the newer avatar of Essar - Hutch, has started to click). They were the first to introduce me to SMS, voice mail, roaming etc.
The only problem came up when I lost my cell for a while. In all probabilities I was supposed to lose my number - which is being used for many years now.
With the 'magic' getting registered now, might be they are able to deal with this problem too.
The voice clarity has been quite good - what I can recall, breakdowns are mostly unheard of. And now the recent addition is that when I move to U.P., I remain connected.
If things remain the same in Mumbai too, then Mumbaiities can expect good time ahead. And yes, in Delhi I never considered MTNLs Garuda!
