Hello .
This is my review on choosing a Media player. Either for your computer/ laptop or your mobile phone.
While choosing a media player, your top priority must be functionality. Like what formats of audio it can play. Well. Audio are mostly produced in mp3 format, but there are many other formats, for example aac or wma which are newer and better compresses audio formats that may not be played on every software.
To get over this problem, I will suggest you to first go through the reviews and comments and then take a decision. This will give you an idea about whats good and whats bad. To read reviews, you can simply use Mouthshut.com which is a nice platform where you can find reviews on tons of products.
Take a look at the User interface also. It must be user friendly. All basic controls must be available and the user experience must be ad free.
Once I had installed KM player on my computer. It had some bugs and soon I realized I was showing me a lot of ads. As a result, I had to uninstall it and I will advise you not to use these kind of softwares.
Moreover, if your system has an in built Media player, then you don't even need to have a 3rd party software to play audio. Particularly in phones and tablets, which are small battery operated devices and often limited on resources.
While on computers, its a whole different concept. As the in built windows media player in Microsoft Windows neither works smooth nor supports all major audio/video codecs.
I personally use VLC Media player on my computer which is a widely popular software because of its minimalistic design and the ability to support all the major audio/video codecs, like mp4, flv, mkv, avi, webm, etc. It also provides me some inbuilt shortcuts to fast forward/ rewind an audio or even take a screenshot while the video being played. Most importantly, it loads quickly. Even on systems with low specifications.
Earlier I have used many softwares like KM Player, GOM Player, Winamp and Real Player, but I was not satisfied. They were all crap. Due to either being slow or the User Experience itself. Real Player allows you to download videos from sites but it takes up a lot of resources, making the computer considerably slow.
NOTE: On modern phones, you don't even need a third party software to play audios, unless you want to get some extra features like equalizer, and themes etc. for android phones, I advise you to use the default Google Music app, and for iPhones, use the default Music app.
Thanks.
