Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Reviews

I have been a big fan of Nokia for a some while.Then the Xperia series was launched, I really wanted to try this phone.So I changed my Nokia N97 & started using this X10.At first all was smooth & good.But then came the probs.The battery was very very bad & don't last for more than 5 hours.I showed to showroom & they told me that it will get better with usage.But that did not happen.After that the camera stopped working.The service centre people told me that the internal "circuit" had been broke & for repairing it the need 8000 rupees!!that was joke!I had bought phone in 30, 000 rupees.it had android 1.6 then.later I upgraded to androin2.2 & camera began to work!what happened to "circuit"then?magically got fixed?

Also when I change new battery, phone went dead.the workshope tells me new motherboard is required.The charge will be 14000 rupees.14, 000!!????s this a joke?to keep the phone working as a phone I have to pay so much?

I have thrown this phone in my cabinet & using Nokia N8 now.It is not perfect too, but far better than expensive experia .

Don't try for this phone.Otherwise you will be sad.

The Phone's sound reception is extremely poor. You can not hear the sound in crowd. The photographs are of poor quality.Even a third grade 5 MP digital camera gives better snaps than this phone.Quality of touch is average.Battery life is  poor.

Video quality is outstanding.Customer care is poor. Go for other phone . What is the use of a phone if it has poor reception.  Horrible reception even a Rs.1000 rupee phone gives better performance.The wi-fi feature is outstanding.

The phone is there because of android features. Otherwise a wothless product

Firstly, I'll make it clear I didn't choose to have this phone it just got sent to me as a replacement for the phone I used to have which had to be sent away for repair 4 times! When they first brought it out of the stock room I thought it was Massive! It's almost as big as your hand (depending how big your hands are obviously) and with it being completely touch screen I was completely skeptical as I've never used a touch screen phone before, well not properly anyway. I got used to it pretty quickly, as I'm always chopping and changing between makes and models. I must be a only 21 year old who doesn't go on Facebook or any social networking site, but this phone is perfect if you are because it has the Timescape feature which is like a wheel which automatically updates whenever anything happens or you get a text etc.

It's relatively easy to use once you get the hang of it. To text you use a qwerty keyboard which takes some getting used to when you've been used to a normal keypad. I haven't worked out yet how to get all the contacts off my simcard onto the phone.I'm a bit disappointed with the phone as I wouldn't have picked it through choice probably, but I've got 6 months left on my contract. It would have helped if Sony Ericsson provided a User Manual for their phones, just for the simple things to do on them, such on switching on loudspeaker as that's another thing I haven't worked out yet. It is a good phone for the "techy" types who would know how every single aspect on th phone works straight away, but for normal people like me who just find ut by experimenting, its a little bit harder work, but a good phone nonetheless.

If you purchase xperia x10, you will feel cheated.

It has been tried to bring great feature in this phone but it is lacking some basic features, without which the phone's performance is far away from expectation and away from its main competitor NOKIA.

1. It dose not have synchronization software for PC, meaning there by, you can not take back up in your PC or laptop. Though synchronization with google and sony ericssion site has been given but they are totally inadequate. Unlike in NOKIA phone where there is feature for synchronization which include option for transferring of cell date to PC, PC data to cell and both, XPERIA x10 does not give any option regarding direction of movement of data and during the process of synchronization either some entry becomes double or some times you loose so many contact details (please try the synchronization and feel the difficulty) , finally you feel cheated after loosing your data.

   
   




2. x10 has shown option for synchronization through Moxier mail but it never worked. After trying for so many times I rang SE support on 011-39011111, but the person Named Mr Hanu was unable to give any use full information, on every querry he ask me to hold me for 2 - 5 minutes then either unable to give information or given incomplete information. I asked him to connect me to any of his superior , he told me that none of them is available, then he disconnected the phone. This was really disgusting and painful.

   
   




3. This phone does not support PDF file.

   
   




4. You can not send business card to any of GSM no. For sending B card it only searches for blue tooth device. on enquiry, the support executive told that business card can not be sent through this phone to any GSM no, as this phone does not support this feature. What a value for mony Rs.35K??????.

   
   




5. Also this phone does not support hindi font, suppose some body has written his review in hindi on face book, you will not be able to read them.

   
   

Finally I concluded that if you can not take back up of data, can not send business card, can not read PDF files, this phone is not worth expending such a huge amount.

If the competent person from sony ericssion read this, please rectify these lacuna.

Xperia has Android operating software which is easy to use. There is a never ending list of free applications available. Downloading and installing applications is simple. Hence you can customize you phone with ease.The phone's processor speed is fantastic.Camera is the best I've seen on mobiles so far. Display quality is good.

Fit and finish is good but not as good as iphone.

Major letdown, however, is the Battery life........ it lasts only half a day(moderate usage). Conversation using speaker phone is possible only in quiet environment as loudness of speaker phone is inadequate.

I wish Sony was as aggressive as Apple in marketing this product and there were more accessories available.
