We have a lot of faith in the way this hospital treats its patients, but something lately turned our faith off. The incident involves one doctor named Dr. Kanika Batra. She sits on the ground floor, in Gynae. department. On being looked at first, she actually doesn't seem like a doctor, plus was too occupied in using her expensive Smartphone to keep poor, grief- stricken patients waiting outside for long. On being checked, it was noticed that she was busy surfing her mobile phone. Also, she took pleasure in making us run from pillar to post, in order to access some reports for my poor Mother- in law, who was writhing in pain. On being requested, she rather argued and shouted at us, and again sent us including a sikh aunty, who was also present with her daughter- in law. She could have easily accessed the reports online, through the patient's account.
Being a doctor, she actually needs to learn these few below mentioned things, as she didn't do us any good. Why would someone end up paying huge bucks, in order to be humiliated and not being catered to in return, by someone as insensitive and bad- mouthed like a doctor, that too a lady doctor?
1) Learn to first console and use polite language with the patient and the family. Cancer isn't easy to deal with!
2) Why making someone run from pillar to post, when you can easily access files online, using the patient' name.
3) Mobile phones like this shouldn't come to use, for making someone wait endlessly outside, despite knowing their condition, and despite you being the only doctor available from the department. In such case, your duty and sense of responsibility increases three-folds.
4) Bad Mouthing and being rude to the family of the patient would rather make the patient's family take away the patient and bring a bad name to the hospital.
We demand some answer from the hospital authority.
