I collect watches. I have owned this wathchstrong text now for over 3 years. Prestine in every respect. This is the one that has gotten the most compliments ever, including from people I don't know. The color and shine are ready to compliment any outfit, dressy or casual. Truely truely scratch free. The functionality is beyond expectation. You can have plain analouge or added digital display at the bottom. Digital display gives you a choice of day plus date, Digital time with seconds(You can pick time zone), a stop watch and more. My watch has stood all kinds of abuse including being dropped more than once. I have it on when playing tennis. If I had to give up all watches but one, this would be the one I'll keep, not the Rolex.
Everything about the Rado Diastar ceramica exudes quality. Even the packaging is elegant and purposeful making an attractive gift. My edition was a gift 13 years ago, and I wear it often. The case and band are scratchproof, it looks like I just opened the box, even a decade later. Keeping perfect time, and with a simple pull and twist of the stem, all functions are accessed sequentially. The gold lcd display above and below the dial discreetly render the desired functions, ie: day/date, stopwatch, elapsed time, alternate zone, etc. or it may be blanked for a simple dial only display. The case and band contour follow the wearer's wrist, feeling at once weightless, and fitted perfectly.
Difficult to describe, but instantly recognized like driving a fine sportscar, where the driver feels at one with machine. The links do not catch clothing, cuffs or hairs, while the clasp folds and latches securely/invisibly. Realize the bettery requires replacement in 18-24 months at an authorized dealer, who will reseal and pressure check the case to maintain it's water resistance. For me, this is the only nuisance, as my jeweler must send the Rado to Atlanta for this procedure. The word timeless is overused these days, but this watch will look fresh 50 years from today, and with its engineering, operate reliably as long. If there is a negative, it's cost might prevent more from enjoying the essence of this well designed and executed timepiece.
I was hesitant to spend big bucks for an online watch. However, I couldn't be more pleased. I received the watch within days after purchase. I was totally impressed how Rado packages their products - very elegant. Rado, I discovered, is owned by Swatch. The watch is beautiful. It oozes elegance. I found a jeweler who could take out a couple of links. I recommend having a trained individual size the band rather than yourself - too much at stake to screw it up. The multi-functions of the watch are easy to use. However, it took me a while to get the concept down. I attribute that to my impatience more than anything else. It's true; it is a fingerprint magnet. However, just a quick rub on your sleeve or anything else brings back its beauty. Go for it.
I have had this watch for the past 2 years and I love it. It has a beautiful black scratch-resistant ceramic finish. It looks like a very elegant bracelet. A very sophisticate watch indeed.
When moving back from Singapore to the United States, I discovered that I had been "relieved" of my RADO Ceramica Multifunction Men's watch. The packing company was highly recommended and the theft had taken place directly out of the RADO box, which was then resealed such that there was no trace of its absence.
Upon returning to America, I reached for the RADO box to begin wearing my Ceramica Multifunction on a daily basis and discovered that it had been stolen. There was no means of filing a claim as I had purchased it years ago in Innsbruck, Austria, and had long since lost the receipt. I prefer the RADO to my Rolex due to its clean lines, smooth feel, many compliments, versatility, and incredible accuracy.
My Rolex is a mechanical watch that requires constant wear to remain wound, is inaccurate by seconds per day, but hey, its a Rolex and I was purchasing the name and got what I expected for$7, 000. As soon as my new RADO arrives the Rolex goes back into the safe and remains there while I enjoy my second RADO Ceramica Multifunction.

You will be amazed by its style, feel, and multifunctionality and indestructability. It looks great in evening wear as well as on a bare tanned arm as jewelery. RADO has made many, many watches, but the Ceramica Multifunction is truly the finest in its entire collection - so much so I purchased a second over my ROLEX.
