LUCENT'S GK Discusses everything from science to Indian polity from the civil service examinations perspective.a well organised contents for competitive exams like ssc,state public service,ibps etc.For exams its a wonderful starter.All GK IN ONE BOOK,that too from an exam point of view.Aspirants.I used Arihant its good but misses huge on polity.Lucent(arihant book+indian polity+extra points which are asked in exams)has polity which is explained verywell.Thanks Amazon for listing this book and selling this awesome!

This book is good for competitive based government jobs. This books spread knowledge over 10 chapters that deal with general knowledge information about history, Indian polity and constitution, geography, economics, physics, chemistry, biology, computers and other important information. Important names, places and dates have been duly highlighted, facts are placed in bullet points and the graphic illustrations presented easy to grasp.

Overall, I think this book is present brief but comprehensive enough information about the subject under a given topic, in a easy to understand language with a logical flow that is easy to remember and recall at critical moments.

His book gk in different is catagarized  like historical 1.gk 2.science and invention gk 3.current affairs etc.vinay karna who wrote this book is very well known writer so by understanding of different exam point he catrgorise it.

when I read this book I found is very easy to memorise due to its differemt sub topics. in this book main points' are highlighted whicg is very easy to consentrate and fast with quick revision. in ssc railways is very popular among students.

This book covers almost all concepts of Geography, Indian Polity, Indian History and the text is very clear and suitable for reading.

I enjoyed reading this book. Its not bulky though.It is very cute and not looking huge.This is for the last minute referring for exams like UPSC, SSC, RRb etc.You can read it casually too.A perfect book for knowledge seekers.

Hello eveybody I am preparing for'NDA' and for that I need a gk book that has almost everything and that can boost up my preparation for general ability so I went or this book after reading it's good review on mouthshut . then I went to snapdeal and ordered it to my home .it was of rs- 148 and home delivery was free.

I liked the book at first look because most of the topic were there, the language was also quite understandable.

but I dislike this book for not being updated a it was clearly written on book that it's year was 2016 but nothing was given about the noble prize o year 2015, this is surprising as well as demotivating for a reader and another such incident was that'andhra pradesh' capital was written a hyderabad but it ha changed to'amravati' an that also in the year 2015 .

so this was not good that these author's of gk book don't try to update their books with very very latest news.

another thing that I don't like was the horrible scene of pages they were almost yellow and everyone knows that these pages are very harmful to our eyes. somewhere the pages were torn also well that is not a matter to complain with the writer but atleast the book should be fully updated according to latest news.

here the history of world was not given in that much detail as I expected and it was just finished in about 10 pages.this was also a very bad thing.even in the'indian polity' all the amendments of constitution were not provided.

but the most basic thing is that book should be updated otherwise it give the message that the information given in the book is wrong and that is very disappointing for both writer as ell as reader

If you're seriously looking for a good book for competitive exams specially for Staff Selection Exams - then this book not for you at all.

I bought this a few month earlier from a local shop And it dissapointed me as contents are not properly discussed, in complete topics in subjects - Geography, Physics, Biology, Chemistry. In several cases a whole chapter is discussed in just one page.

It's impossible to cover 10 different topics in just 600 page.

However, History is well[not best] described in this book. Okay I am rating it 1 star and this book deserves it.

Lucent's G.K book is an useful one for those people who are preparing for competitive exams like Ibps, SSc CGL, Lic AAo, Railway etc. It costs only rs. 180 . The first edition of this book was published in 2007 and now they have published their 6 th edition in 2015.

This book is really better than other  G.K book because of its decoration.

It is well decorated each and every part is clearly covered with good explanations . It has some additional features like it has included the foreign history and general science which includes physics, chemistry and biology in detail too as its part. it has covered history(Indian and world), geography, Indian polity and constitutions, Indian economy, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and miscellany(all type of information like first male, female name in all type of respective post or all type of award winner till date). Each and every chapter  is decorated in fantastic way that a reader will easily understand the topic and get his respective knowledge on that subject which is required. Every small issue in a particular topic is also covered Covering this book only will help you to attend 80% of the G.K questions which are very essential part of any competitive exam and this book will surely help to get a good score in G.K part with out taking any of the tuition classes.

I bought this book last year and it has helped me to perform better in G.K section in exams.

Hello, Lucent's General knowledge is the very best hand book for General knowledge.

I have brought this in 2012, still it is with me, you can understand how good the book is.

I had gifted this book to 2 of my friends they thanked me. I had bought in online for just 160 rs.
