Was it a movie in any damn way? Himesh, its my sincere advice to you, STOP ACTING OR SOMEONE WILL REALLY KILL YOU AND THIS TIME NO REBIRTH.

The movie started with his nasal song and I heard everyone around laughing. This was the start and this was how it ended. Every time he appeared on screen, everyone laughed like hell. Probably he is going to give serious competition to Raju Shrivastav.

The music is okay and it lives cause the movie has nothing to show. The direction is poorest. The best thing about the movie is that the actors team up to destroy Himesh’s dreams.

Gulshan Grover needs to get a brain check. What the hell was he doing with that steal robotic arm, making sounds? I still burst out laughing thinking about him and his musical arm! Wonder why Himesh wants to be a playback singer. His voice doesn’t even suit him! The movie on the whole is a 2 and a half hour joke. Go if you can resist such long jokes. Otherwise just sit back and see Himesh screaming on small screen, and laugh till you sleep! STATUTORY WARNING: Himesh Reshammiya is much more injurious than Cigarette.

Watch it for urmila!

Let's get things straight its a remake of old karz and its pathetic, boring and undigested? Right? What's new in this? Perhaps this was already the opinion even before the release on the minds of people. Well somehow they are right the film is not that good, and the reason is mr himesh ji which ruins the movie with his terrible acting I guess any extra can perform better than him. The movie would have been watchable if the destruction made by himesh could have been prevailed? Only his songs are a saving grace for him. Rest two more things are good, one the locations and second the performance by danny which had less spark compared to pran's character.

And now comes to the best part, who steals the show in this movie? None other than the gorgeous urmila matondkar, she is at her best. Its so disheartening to know that she didn't get her due for the movie from the audiences. Simply because she portrayed simi grewal's character but she wasn't lesser than her in any way. I am afraid to say but yes she is horribly underrated. One of the best actresses in Bollywood. As the character princess kamini, she infuses light, style and power on the screen.

So I would recommend this movie for urmila, its only her whom you can watch the movie even if you aren't her fan.

Hai bhagbaaaannnn!!!I don't even know where to start.we know the hero is a superstar singer but there was no need for 11 songs in the movie....aaarrrrghhh!!!!!.we get it director jiii.

We get it!!!.the audience is not dumb!!!.besides danny denzonpa with his silly side kicks never failing to give cheesy comical references to past hindi movies everytime their scenes comes up...eeekkkss!!

They totally destroyed the little seriousness that the movie was desperately clinging onto for dear life!!!!!.the director should be jailed definitely for totally butchering a classic.only urmila's role was essayed well, believable and watcheable(hers was the best acting though a little bit much and also too less at the appropriate times).

She's a seasoned actress but i really wonder how she could deliver a 'definitely not upto the mark' performance with this movie unlike her past recent ones..maybe she ...dare i say..didn't took it seriously.but where in the world did she find the time to change her attire soooo quicklyfrom a skimpy outfit into a 'grieving bahu' sari as soon as she reached the ground after landing from the plane in the beginning?!

Pleaseeee director jiii .......tell me....i wanna know as i also want to master the skill of changing clothes in a few seconds only.plus sorry himesh..but you definitely need a 'ultra modern 'new hairstyle.that look is sooo over way back when akshay, salman , shah rukh and sunil shetty dumped the 'big hair look way back in the 90's'.and don't forget to take proper acting lessons next time or else everyone will run away from the theatres and dvds of yr 'upcoming' new filmms.

Ind i don't even want to mention gulshan grover's ''cool villain with a cool machine on his hand" look.typical, traditional hindi filmi badmaash wala with over-rated make up and get up. Double eeeekkkksssssss!!!!.a friend of mine came to know i watched this karzzz and couldn't believe it.he's still reeling from the shock.watch it only for urmila's sake if you do watch it. ,

KARZZ !!!

*A man, whose name is Ravi Verma won a case against Sir Juda. Wow, that's a great news. Now, she got married to Kamini. After the marriage, Ravi decided to go home. They are very rich. They always prefer to fly like a bird. Well, the helicopter is not safe. There is nothing to worry? Hmm.but, there is only one parachute. Net result, one has to die.

Who died? Can't you hear the dialogues of Ravi Verma's mother. She is threatening Goddess Kali. Goddess Kali is taking care of this serious escalation and in response to that, Yamraaj permitted the re-birth of Ravi Verma. Now, you must take a'Saridon' tablet, because your head will start paining gradually.

Monty, a rockstar just rocks with his music. But, that special tune has some real impact on his mind. The song was'Ek haseena thi, ek haseena tha' .But, Tina, was really a very sweet girl and that is why, Monty sang the song, 'Lut jaaon lut jaaon' . Doctor suggested Monty to take rest for his mental disturbance factor.

Oho, Monty is in true love with that Tina only. He went to Kenya, chasing her. Lovely place it is, indeed. But, again that music is haunting Monty. He confirmed from an old man about something and after seeing Princess Kamini, Monty confirmed that he was the Ravi Verma at his previous birth. Monty is expert in dialogues. For example, "haan haan, main jaanta hoon.ki tumne mera khoon kiya tha". After seeing his expression, all ghosts will file a petition to die again.

Princess Kamini, as usual got seduced by this young man and fell in love. Oh, do you know that Monty is also expert in'flying-boxing'? Really, this man fought well, for that old princess Kamini. At last, you will find a helicopter chasing someone. That helicopter crashed in front of that Kali temple only. Goddess Kali felt relaxed as she closed the escalation of Ravi Verma's mother.

In this recession market, if you really don't want to be a bankrupt person and mentally ill, then please refrain yourself from watching the No.1 worst movie "KARZZ", which features the great funniest actor Himesh Reshmaiya, who says to switch on your'Mann ka Radio' and the famous Rangeela girl of Ramgopal Verma, Miss Urmila Mantondkar. Others are also there in this film, but as a night bulb in a dark room.

Monty, Himesh Reshammiya. Size zero, with a poodle on his head, and a face that still looks like his neck threw up. On the positive side, he has graduated from having a single expression on his face. In this, his second film, he looks like he is in varying degrees of abject pain.

Princess Kamini, Urmila Matondkar. Who redefines what bad acting is all about, with strange facial expressions, an impossible to decipher accent and jerky marionette movements. Apart from terrible skin, bad make up and bits of flab seeking escape from the reaches of control hose.

Tina, new find Shweta Kumar. Good, for her debut film. But she looks like Indra Kumar(her father) dressed in drag, the resemblance is so striking!

Kabeera, Danny Denzongpa. Completely wasted in an inane role.

Sir Juda, Gulshan Grover. In a, guffaw and you miss him-and-his-strange-steel-arm, appearance.

Ravi Verma, Dino Morea. Droolicious! Wish he had been given a longer role!

Audience, Me. Lock away her money, transport, glasses and computer so she cannot watch these films AND then have the nerve to write their reviews!

A remake of Subhash Ghai’s ‘Karz’, this film follows the same story, with a twist(which I won’t give away, the kind soul that I am)

Loads of crap....
Dec 05, 2008 01:09 AM 3594 Views

Oh boy ..this movie is nothing but all the more crap. I thought himesh bhaisahab would stop acting after "aap ka suroor" but this film breaks all the patience limits. First of all the songs kill with no melody and stone faced monty prancing around. Urmila looks all so boring and tired like doing some ehsaan on himesh to spruce up his career. Highest coincidences of himesh meeting everyone after remembering his past. Please avoid this movie totally, invest the ticket money in sumthing else.

Plot is how a reincarnated super rock star "monty"(alias himesh) who in previous birth was ravi verma(dino moreo) realises the cause of his death in previous life is kamini (his wife).the motive being wealth....fast-forward to future how he falls in love with kamini's foster daughter n then tries to extract revenge on kamini

Acting rating:

  1. Himesh reshamiya"zero....he sucks..

  2. Urmila: 2/10

  3. Shweta: virtually no role 1/10

  4. Gulshan grover: speechless.

The most disastrous movie of 2008
Nov 17, 2008 06:23 PM 3586 Views

Movie - karz, year - 2008 result - super flop!

The movie karzzzz is totally a crap movie of 2008. I have much more expectations from the movie and i thought it might be more entertaining like the movie "om shanti om" but it resulted in totally a crap and proved to be a "super flop" of the year 2008.the movie "om shanti om" is made on the same story and has similar stories and has much to deliver but the movie "karzzzz" has nothing to deliver. The movie "drona" can still be watchable but one can totally waste his/her money whoseover has watched the movie "karzzz" and there might be seens near multiplexes that people were selling the tickets of the movie "karzzzz." the good part of the movie is the title song - "lut jaaon lut jaaon (karzzz title track" and the well acting of himesh reshammiya and its singing and the urmila matondkar acting were superb in all. She has acted better than himesh. For himesh as an actor it is his second movie. He needs to grew more and learn acting techniques. In all, himesh is only fair in its acting but excellent in its singing.

Director satish kaushik has tried to make the movie but fails to deliver at his best. The movie can be made much more entertaining but it has shown nothing. The songs of the movie are totally bored except the title track. The songs keep on coming in every interval after few scenes which keeps your expectations dull that is not entertaining. In all, the movie "karzzzz" is the "worse" remake by director satish kaushik. Himesh and urimala hit but the movie "karzzzz" is "fuzzzzz." thus, the movie "karzzzz" is the "super flop" movie and is the "most disastrous movie of 2008" at all! Ratings - i give: (1) movie : "karzzzz" : 2/5 - "super flop" (2) plot : 2/5 (3) cast performance : 3/5 (4) sound track : 3/5 (5) cinematography : 3/5 thank you!

“Karzzz Stays on Himesh, to deliver”
Oct 23, 2008 01:05 PM 4072 Views

So the Remake-season is back with wannabe-actor Himesh Reshammiya slipping into the shoes of “King of Romance” aka Rishi Kapoor and hoping against hope to recreate the magic that this tale of reincarnation has spilled over the audiences two decades back. Going by the pre-concieved notions of the majority of the movie-goers this audaciously bold step would backfire the Topi-less Musician-turned-singer-turned-Actor. But few of the hardcore optimists still feel that he can deliver the goods and will countervail the criticism fiercely bestowed upon him.

This reincarnation of 80’s blockbuster “Karz” switches over to the luscious locales of South Africa and Kenya in the first half and that I’m afraid is the only high point of the flick. The story crawls well below a snail’s pace in the first half and what you’ll witness is a Himesh-smitten “Chitrhaar” with few bunch of actors hamming right, left and center with HR leading the pack. Suddenly in the second half the Director remembers that they are remaking “Karz” and not the sequel to supposedly Super-hit “Aap ka Suroor”.  So he speeds up the pace, exercises his brain and pours-in some innovative ideas to end up with an impudent attempt of remaking the classic.  I would like to recall that I have christened the new twists-n-tales of the Don’s remake as an over smart move; on the similar lines I would dare to say those of Karzzz are utterly rubbish and infantile.

Music and Songs are always HR’s forte and in his own backyard there is no room for flaws and complacency. The music of Karzzz won’t create out-of-the-world kind of hysteria but nasal-twang songs are surely worth giving a shot. The best song of the flick- “Lut Jaoun” is used sparingly throughout and even kick-starts the movie. The second best song of the album- “Dhoom tere Ishq Ki” could’nt find a place in the array of songs and his supposed-replacement “Masha-Allah” fails to impress. The soulful tune of  “Ek Haseena Thi”  and the charisma of original composition is thankfully kept intact. “Soniye jee tere naal” manages to achieve grace marks due to the Punjabi-fervor and “Tandoori Nights” fills the void of a peppy track. The rest of the songs would appeal to hardcore HR fans, as they might sting to the others’ eardrums and when in the movie, further cripples its paralyzed pace.

If you ever wish to watch a bagful of under-performing renowned actors in a single flick then Karzzz is the apt choice. Gulshan Grover looks to portray a character in a MTV spoof rather than in a major commercial cinema, Raj Babbar was wasted to the tee, Asrani was ghastly-intolerable and last but not the least – Danny fails to impress in a role made memorable by Great Pran Sir. New kid-on-the-bloc catty-eyed and stone-faced Shweta Kumar would be lucky if she gets another break to showcase her acting prowess, if any. The only silver lining of otherwise sorry tale of mis-happenings is Urmila Mantondkar who gives a much needed respite from other clowns in action. She shows the glimpses of her hey-days in flashback scenes and gives her compatriots run for their money with her greyish performance. Himesh Reshammiya, sans his trademark-cap & few pounds of weight and in his new weirdo-hairdo-look tried very hard to act. Kudos for the guts of the man but he really flatters to deceive; when he romances- he looks hilarious, when he delivers a dialogue- he yells instead, when he is emotional- he looks lost in  Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa hang over, and when he dances- he hops and jumps. Still I would say, choosing such a challenging and immortalized role is a real bravado from Himesh but it would take another “Janam” or two for him to come even a little close to Mr. Rishi Kaoor. Till then – “Monty can never be back and Karz can never be re-presented.”

Harjeet’s Verdict:  For HR-haters and Average viewers- Watch the original “Karz” in dvd and use the extra ‘Zzzz’ for your sound sleep. For HR fans: Watch out for his brave attempt and the series of Nasal ridden songs. In any case, keep “Loving to Hate him and Stay in Peace”

Firstly let me declare that I am a Huge Himesh bhai's Fan.

I feel who ever says I hate Himesha reshammiya he sings through his nose, mouth, ears  blah blah bley bley just do it for fashion.

It was the 9:30 PM Sunday night show, me and my pal and 5 others were the only ones in the huge multiplex screen.  All of the theater for us!! In fact most of the whistles were from me.

Movie plot: Old Karz with a lill bit of twist ( talk of keeping up with times! )

cinematography: is worth a mention. some of the landscape scenes seem to be CG processed. however south africa sure looks exotic.

Acting:  Himesh Bhai: 2/9  He looks dehydrated in most of the scenes, speaks very fast, His hair is over woven !  makeups done nothing to help remove his under eye dark circles.

Urmila:   2/9  being an experienced actress! shes no clue why the rangeela girls came to such a state.

Shweta kumar: -1/9   she would be better off on Horror flicks especially with her overtly green eyes.

Gulshan Grover:  Was that  gulshan grover? I could not make out in the movie really I was able to fins out only during the credit , he keeps tapping on some made in china  musical contraption on his hand in order to communicate , gimme a break!

Danny : great actor wasted

Rohini hatangadi: another great actress wasted in with a bit of overacting

Then whats great about it??

MUSIC!!! The songs are awesome, Hari Om Rocks, If the theater was full it could have turned out to be a discotheque.

The Disco lightings and cinematography during the song sequences are rocking! I must say a lot of dough must have gone in the lighting and musical sets itself.

It would have been better if himesh sported a microphone during his song performance sequences it would have added a bit of reality , but then what the heck? Masala movie hai bhai saab chalta hai!!

Sleepy!!

Ok..soon we are going to see more of himeshs steller performances and hear a lot oc nausal music.be prepared for the ultimate assault ...as himesh and company is going to unleash their creative talent and surprise you with their memorable flicks at your near by multiplex.get ready to feast your eyes on virgin locations and skinny models while your mouth is busy feasting overpriced popcorn.

Formula one.: pic a hit movie that you think timeless and while doing so keep the fo;llowing in mind.

  1. The story should give you room to shift the location

  2. It should have memorable music which you can remix.

3.one universal sentiment factor like mother...sister etc...

4.and an audience who are content with watching some exotic locations , models and sets.

Actually I didnt see the original karz.still I was dozing off after half through the movie.the movie failed to appeal to me primarly bcoz actors themselves looked unintrested. The devi maa temple and one dreaming bhoodi maa looks as outdated as your premier car.ther is nothing to write about the story as all we know it already.one astonishing thing is even after 25 years the villain and his goons are unchanged save a bot of greying beard.the locations keep changing like nething leaving you confused of the geography.songs sound longer and feel as you have already heard them in pichale janam.himesh proves that he too can act at the end which comes too late.and a bit of self dabba as danny says aap ka suroor. Super hit.

One should admire himesh for his courage to act while knowing that he cant. Urmila looks better than the other young lady. After coming out of the theater all I did is to run to a near by coffee shop and I do hope u can guess why.

One doubt that still haunts me is what made himesh and company think that today's audience are still willing to see the old potboilers.

Yeh Karz mat lo!

List of characters

But she looks like Indra Kumar (her father) dressed in drag, the resemblance is so striking!

A remake of Subhash Ghai’s ‘Karz’, this film follows the same story, with a twist (which I won’t give away, the kind soul that I am)

So we have ‘Rockstar Monty’ who in spite of the way he looks, sounds and dresses is, but naturally, the heartthrob of the entire female population of Cape Town and has girls of all races, colors and sizes swooning over him, and his Hindi songs. His father cum business manager, Raj Babbar playing an OTT Sardar, exploits Monty's talent to make money but humiliates Monty for free.

While on stage one day, Monty suffers from a hallucination and passes out (yay!) only to (sadly) recover and realize that a particular tune triggers it off. A psychiatrist advises Monty to take a vacation and off he goes to Kenya, to recover and woo a girl his beady eyes spotted at a party.

In the midst of wooing Tina in Kenya, places, people and buildings seem familiar to Monty and his hallucinations increase, confusing him further. Till he meets Princess Kamini, of the love handles and preference for metallic hued clothing fame and the fog in his brain finally clears and he realizes who he is. Then begins a game to trap Princess Kamini into revealing the whereabouts of Ravi Verma’s surviving mother and sister and how she, Kamini, murdered Ravi Verma.

How he gets her to admit is where the ‘twist’ in this movie lies.

If you’ve seen the original ‘Karz’ you are sure to find a thousand flaws in this movie. If you haven’t seen it, you will still find a thousand flaws in it.

The biggest flaw being, the casting of Himesh Reshammiya playing a 25 year old ‘Rockstar’ as he neither looks the part , nor acts it. Newcomer Shweta who is cast opposite him could pass off as his daughter, the pair is that mismatched, there fore no surprises about the zero chemistry between them!

Urmila performs like she is doing the world a favor by acting in this movie. This could go down as her worst performance ever.

Senior artistes like Danny Denzongpa, Asrani, Rohini Hattangady and Gulshan Grover are completely wasted, with caricature like roles and equally funny performances. The direction (Satish Kaushik) is average and the songs have no impact. The two good things about the film are the fresh locales of South Africa that could have been exploited better by an able cinematographer, and the overall slick packaging of this film.

I wish Himesh would stop acting and concentrate only on his music. But I read that he is going to horrify people even further by appearing shirtless, with a six-pack, in his next movie.

Oct 20, 2008 07:04 PM 4380 Views

I am not the fan of Himesh Reshmaiyya. I also does not like his singing with the nose in his album of songs.  I saw this  movie as I was looking to see Urmilas dancing  and action fight scene in south Africa and other foren locals.

This is the same story of old movie Karz by Subhash Ghai. But there is no double role by the hero. The first hero is raviverma by Dino Moriya who die in the accident of the plane with Urmila where urmila is jumping with the parachute. Dino Moriya is crushing withthe plane in near kali mandir in Kenya which is builded by the mother of ravi verma. Urmila is working for the don

Gulshan grover as Sar Judda. But after twnty five years Himesh is a singer Monty

in foren country who is the copy of ravi verma and he is born again to revenge of

Urmila the kamini. Himesh is the famous singer orphan who is bring to

public  by Raj babbar as sardarji. But

Himesh rembering the old picture like a flashback and coming to Kenya. Urmila

the kmini is living like princess kmini and wearing mini dress.  The ladies are looking same young after 25

years and urmila is wearing sexy gown and without the bra dresses at the 50

year and her skin is good also. Monty’s sister is also young after this fifty

years but her children are small. The mother is very old and looking like

hundred year nani ‘ba’ like in the kahani ghar ghar ki. There are many songs in

the movie and thay were giving the CD free with the popcorn for Rs 140 combo.

But all the songs are very long and people were going out for smoking the

cigerrate. Lut Jaaon Lut Jaaon, Sisak sisak ke and Tandoori nites are little

good to hear but I also went outside to buy pan masala for other songs. There

was twenty five people in the hall and some people was sleeping also. But I

liked Himesh acting with very good power and he is crying for emotional scene.

He is looking very funny with the beard and crying but he is trying to be a

best looking hero. The new girl is shweta who is very thin and flay looking and

wearing mini skirts and good acting  with  kmini in the same scene. Himesh is acting

without the cap and he has the long hairstyle this time. There is small action

parts with the Sir judda at last scene but it is very small. Old people like

asrani, danny are in the movie with small parts and trying to be the joker in

the movie. I did not saw much of the females and they are also not exposing as

all the scenes was monty crying or singing the songs. Final scene monty is

taking the revenge in singing the Ek hasina thi song which is very emotional

& drama to urmila fearing the ravi verma coming back as punarjanam. The

plane she is go to fly is falling near the kali mandir in Kenya same to

same. Urmila is becoming the tandoori fry and the movie is ending.  I want to take

the medicine to keep the jawani for 25 years and give it to rakhi

sawant.

Another Boring down the lane !
Oct 19, 2008 07:59 PM 3258 Views

I dont understand whether Bollywood has more funds than the Indian Government or it makes funds by emptying our pockets only...I think the latter has to be correct  and even after reading good reviews on MS , people like me go to take the risk in our very own hands , why? because we want to test our nerves too!

I am talking no crap , but about this very movie. It tested my nerves and for the first time , I literally dozed off for 10 min, I guess HR songs have some addiction which makes you fall asleep..right?

Okay , coming to the movie. Another remake like many many others , but this time with loads of songs , or should I say , dialogues between songs , I dont remember when was the last time when I saw a movie with so many songs in it. Arey yaar , agar musical album banani hai to private album banao...why movies yaar?

Well , the story is worldwide known Karz's remake. So , nothing new in the plot. Right from the moment you enter. You know whats gonna happen, such high predictability makes it very very boring and adds a huge negative to it.

HR does not know how to act , he is so aggressive and loud and that shows even when he romances. As well as somebody suggested a thought with me that he is too old to start his acting career..I somehow agree.  But I must add that he has put tremendous amount of efforts to make his every move work in favour of him..which unfortunately doesnt.

Urmila ....somebody please tell her , she is too old to act now...throughout the movie , her quintals of makeup added irritation whenever she appeared on the screen. Acting is no problem from her side as she is one talented there. But this movie kept her in a fix as she was supposed to fill somebody else's shoes and so this time, not very impressive acting. Himesh introduces new girls with her , mostly coz he knows he wont fit in with any current actress. Anyways , Shweta Kumar looks pretty , cute and adorable. Her eyes are her USP.

Gulshan Grover must have been so upset with the script that it felt he has been forced to act...thats why , he wears that Shehenshah type metallic hand and doesn't even speak a word. Good going. Small role..even smallest act and nothing to speak...Great!

There are so many songs in the movie that it feels you are watching a music album..initially songs feel nice but then movie gets boring and boring. The movie is full of flaws..and I dont even want to point out how many and where! But yes , if you decide to go to see it,  please do see the climax veryy properly...it shook all my logics away.

Overall , If you want to enjoy the movie's songs , its good you hear it on Audio as movie is not going to succeed and it will prove , that not every  remake can work. Better luck next time HR !

Well o Well, Yes I watced a Movie starring himesh, yet again. Even though I had those memories of Aap Ka Suroor, I still dared to watch it. And you know what, this time around it wasnt a bad experience at all. KARZZZZ in fact is a good time pass for a DVD watch.

The Plot:

Ravi Verma wins the long running case finally and decided to marry Kamini, the love of his life. He is unaware of kamini's intentions and is killed by kamini who caused the plane crash and she did all of this on the notes of Sir Juda, the one who lost the case to Ravi Verma. Ravi's Mother who was waiting for Ravi's arrival is shocked by the News of his death. She challenges kali Maa that she will have to bring back Ravi to the same place where he has died.

25 Years, and we meet Monty, a Singer, a rockstar, an orphan who is under a contract with Mr GG Oberoi ( Raj Babbar ). He meets a girl, Tina ( and falls in love with her at the very first meeting. Later on the girl goes back to where she came from. Later on while performing in a show, Monty suddenly starts playing a tune which takes him into nostalgia and he sees never seen before images. This grows on slowly and the doctors advice him rest. He comes to know that Tina is in Kenya and he decided to go to kenya for his vacation.

Everything was just going fine until Monty comes across the same things that he used to see in his dreams. The memories of his last life come back and yes he is Ravi Verma Reborn. After this Monty goes all out to take revenge from his killers including Kamini.

The Plot is tried and tested like condoms. But still this plot always appeals even though we know that what is gonna happen next.

Screenplay: Its not a remake. Its a Xerox Copy. The scenes, the dialuges, the character names everything are just the same, even the camera angles. Do one thing, Play old Karz on one player, mute it and play the new one in the other player simultaneously, you will get what the characters are upto.

One thing that I found pretty funny was that when Monty reaches Kenya, he is in a chopper and he is singing to Tina, the noise that the blades of the chopper make are suppressed by Himesh's voice. When Himesh stops singing, we can hear the chopper. Damn he is Loud, aint he ?

Music - Is Rocking, specially Ek Haseena thi and Lut Jaoun.

Performance

Himesh Shows a marked improvement in his acting. This time around he is good. 3.5/5

Urmila hasn't done what she is knows for. Infact she is relegated to the back seat. 2/5

Shweta Kumar - Looks nice and does ok for her first movie. 2.5/5

The rest of the cast is OK.

Direction : Satish Kaushik hasnt directed the movie. He has copied it scene to scene.

Overall - A decent time pass flick which brings back the memories of old Karz.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Was it a movie in any damn way?

Himesh, its my sincere advice to you, "STOP ACTING OR SOMEONE WILL REALLY

KILL YOU AND THIS TIME NO REBIRTH."

The movie started with his nasal song and I heard everyone around laughing.

This was the start and this was how it ended. Every time he appeared on screen,

everyone laughed like hell. Probably he is going to give serious competition to

Raju Shrivastav.

The music is okay and it lives cause the movie has nothing to show.

The direction is poorest.

The best thing about the movie is that the actors team up to destroy Himesh's

dreams.

Gulshan Grover needs to get a brain check. What the hell was he doing with that

steal robotic arm, making sounds? I still burst out laughing thinking about him

and his musical arm!

Wonder why Himesh wants to be a playback singer. His voice doesn’t even suit

him!!

The movie on the whole is a 2 and a half hour joke. Go if you can resist such

long jokes. Otherwise just sit back and see Himesh screaming on small screen,

and laugh till you sleep!

STATUTORY WARNING: Himesh Reshammiya is much more injurious than Cigarette.

“Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not you go out and look for a successful personality an duplicate it.” I know its pretty late for Mr. Satish Kaushik to read this quote but you all can surely learn a lesson. I hate piracy and I never promote it … I wonder this industry where everyone from Big B to Kareena  is busy requesting to stop piracy why they themselves promote it. Before you ask for a “Oxford Dictionary” to understand the meaning of Piracy and show it to me, I would like to add that there is a big difference between an Inspiration and Copying and Bollywood even after several failed attempt never stops it. Not everybody can be as lucky as Barjatya and Bhansali’s of the world who got their share of “HAHK” and “Devdas” and trust me they where purely lucky to serve the old wine in a new bottle when people did not mind tasting any thing available on this mother earth.

Well coming out of the cribbers shoes which I comfortably wear and roam around throwing my opinions at peoples face. Let me tell you how I land repeatedly in such situations. Reason being my “not-so-good-behaviour” with people, sometime I do have to pay a price. That’s what happened when I requested a friend to buy me a ticket of “Hello” on the way back home and he purposely got me two tickets of “Karzzz” .

When I reach near the gate of Audi 1(PVR Bangalore) to my surprise I found a big group of college going lads & babe’s wearing cap’s..and waiting anxiously to enter the hall. The show begins and so does the non-stop hooting from the audience, I wondered if my taste has gone done or Gen X is going Insane. But as the movie progressed I realised that they are having a gala time mocking at Himesh.

Honestly I do not want to insult a classic movie like Karz with this one so I will talk about the movie without even insulting the people who were associated with the old ‘Karz’.

Casting/Performances:I wonder if the casting director was at some place where they serve cheap booze and he got liquored up that’s when he decided to choose “Himesh Reshamiya”for the role of Young Rock Star “Monty”. Urmila in the role of “Kamini” – the babe who killed “Monty’s” in his previous birth when he was “Ravi” (played by Dino) was pretty okay. Then again “Introducing” directly out of Ramsay Movie was “Shweta Kumar” in the role of “Monty’s” current Janam love interest was horrible. I would suggest “Casting Director to be a little generous to Himesh by choosing gals around his age, otherwise he might be behind bars soon for “Child Molestation” case (Check his records). Rest cast and crew included Gulson grover in his new get-up, Raj Babbarplaying Punjabi with nothing new and Rohoni Huttangadi in the role of Maa who can yell well at her son’s death and not to forget Danny/Asrani trying hard to put a smile on our face.  And some etc’ in the role of ‘Behan’ ‘Dost’ completely wasted.

Story -is no different from the earlier one but I do recollect “Himesh” claiming that “we have given a twist to the movie”. I think the only twist which I saw in the movie was “himesh” acting skills (Mind it I have no complains to his singing/composing talent). His acting brought tear in my eyes, as I could not control my laugh. The main plot of the movie was about love-betrayal-revenge and next birth.

Choreography – Sorry there wasn’t any to be spoken about.

Cinematography- after some point of time the locales looked fake as in they where shot in some studio (reminded me of the old movie). Locales claimed were Cape Town/Kenya – but I did hear some local resident there speaking “Maa Jee aap baith jaiye” in the movie (Gosh, Yeh public hai sab jaanti hai).

Editing – I wish movie would have been edited, edited wherever Himesh tried being emotional.

Wardrobe – Urmila’s was too good, she looked sexier than ever. Shweta’s clothes were okay. Special mention of those unbuttoned cleavage showing shirts of Himesh Hero.

Direction – Disappointing, shots were horrible and I wonder if satish was in a hurry to finish the movie else can he explain “when does a director say shot okay”. Whose responsibility was to make the actors act esp “Himesh” and “Shweta”.

Dialogues – Let me not mention these golden dialogues “Maa tujhe mera beta wapas karna hi hoga” – “Tumne mujhe dhoka diya” – “Kyaaaa Tumne mujhe behan kaha” – Blah Blah.

Music/Lyrics – Okay this was better esp one line which I am still humming is “tak tana na na na tandoori nights, tandoori nights, tandoori nights, – if loving you is wrong I don’t wanna be right”

Well now coming on to real dissection of the movie not becaz of Himesh, reason being the news and expectation behind it:

~~This movie has been sold to Reliance BIG Entertainment for distribution at Rs.350 million.

~~Himesh claims that this is his first movie as he has acted “himself” in his earlier movie “Aap ka Suroor”

~~Thirdly Himesh performance in this movie will decide his stardom for next five movies which are under production.

So let me talk about the transformed Himesh and his effect on me.  Himesh has lost weight and thanks to him I have decided not to loose weight at all else I might look like one joker with a ‘thin body and a big face’. Himesh also guided me well to spend money on the right alterations in body, I wonder if he wasn’t aware of liposuction. Himesh's hair transplant was so shocking to me but gave me a hope that I can still postpone my marriage and get the transplant done before it. He has kept the long hair look and ensured every inch of his head is covered, but how I wished his hair would have been longer than usual and could have covered his face while he tried to act with his poker-faced face. Out and out it’s a Himesh’s movie and he has indeed put a lot of effort in it, its just that those efforts are so visible that it might be nominated for ‘Oscar’s’ if there is any category called “effortful ruined remake”.

Nothing can be a better ending line than a powerful dialogue of the movie:

“When you are lucky in love, you are unlucky at gambling”

So all the unlucky in love lads … lets go for gambling… in the meantime Himesh bhai shayad kuch aur try kar leh…!!

P.S:Dear God, I don't want another birth, as I wonder if Dino's next birth can be himesh (still a human) mine will surely be a CROW.

P.P.S:There are better ways of taking revenge than abusing aur hitting someone, be nice to your enemies buy them tickets for the movie "Karzzz"

Director Satish Kaushik fails to direct a movie which story line is so strong..This Karzzz, despite the extra zees for luck, is a blot. Except for the names of the characters, which are exactly the same, nothing else is: the treatment is sloppy, even by Satish Kaushik’s standards. Costume for Urmila is too wierd..makeup also fails..giving boys what they expect from Urmila.

Shweta Kumar acting is dead..Even the climactic song-cum-whodunit denouement, which has been lifted completely, is mangled. In between, you can hear Rohini Hattangadi, who plays the “dukhiyari maa” utter lines like these: “mere kaleje ke tukda”, she goes, “mere laal”.

Music too good if you have knowledge of music you can understand himesh's New Bollywood own

Music Era..Himesh have really worked hard on Music but still the Dialogue delivery is fast

Himesh acting---5/10,

Urmila exposing--7/10,

Music  --9/10

1 time watchable movie for himesh's hard work.

KARZ Reborn as KARZZZZ
Oct 17, 2008 09:25 PM 5332 Views

Reincarnation-Do you believe in it?   I think we live in this moment and we are only relevant in the circumstances we live in.  If we reborn to a new generation better we take a new life and live life all new.  However, if we have things to finish in this earth?   Projects to finish, dreams to complete, revenge is left….we will never complete our jobs and dreams in this life, but does that important?

Karzzzz is a story of love, betrayal and revenge - reborn!

Ravi Varma (Dino Morea) and Kamini (Urmila Matondkar) is in love.   They decide to be together in wedlock and now flying back to meet Ravi's family.   The plane is crashed and Ravi is dead in the incident where Kamini is escaped.   25 years gone by and we now meet with Monty (Himesh Reshammiya) who is a great singer but an orphan obliged by contract.   He met Tina (Shweta Kumar) and now they are in love.  Kamini is now Princess Kamini and Monty meet with the Princess.    The story of revenge starts…

The movie is like a 3 compartment box, where the first filled with music, the second with predictable story moments and the third as a speedy and eventful incidents and action.   The music is the first and foremost of attractions of the movie.   Much importance is paid to the music, especially for the instrumental tracks.   When you listen to them in theatre your heart will beat to the tunes of the instruments.    Yes, the music is effective in theatre.

The story is very predictable.   Eventhough I haven't seen Karz the original, I could easily assume how the film will move forward, thanks to the promos they have given out earlier and similarities with many other films.    The story telling almost stalled in the middle but by climax it took a good pace to finish it as ok.

Satish Kaushik, the director did a good job but the selection of casting could have been better.

Himesh Reshammiya as an actor was quite good.   Despite his drawbacks to be a hero by look he managed to portray the character without much trouble.   Urmila Matondkar was very good, and we cannot expect anything better from her.   Shweta Kumar looks cool and she keeps a nice smile all across the film, but she could not do much when it comes to acting.  Shweta looks too young to be a heroine!    Rest of the cast didn't have much to do, where Rohini Hattangadi's role should have handled with much more care.

Musicof the film is interesting.   I was thinking that the film will be an all out musical but to my surprise it is well balanced with music and story.  At least 3 tracks stand different and excellent where others were quite ordinary.     Choreographer didn't try much variation and remain average.

Cinematography was very good, given the beauty of the locations, colourful sets and good lighting - which helped the camera to give good shots one after another.   However, in some shots at least it could have been better.     Editing didn't help the cinematographer to cover some short comings either.

Overall the movie is an ok to watch kind.   For Himesh fans, the movie is a must watch.  For lovers of music the first half will be very interesting.  For one who wishes to see how the remake works, they too can barge in without doubt.  For all others the movie is optional.  If you are very selective and only looking for exceptional or excellent movies, just forget it.   The movie is an average entertainer which follows a story with some good music, and entertains - though not in a big way.
