SMS turns into Money
Jun 28, 2015 11:30 AM

I was getting sms on my mobile repeatedly about mouthshut.com I didn't show any interest and I used to delete them. On one day again I got the same sms and went to office and searched it on google. I got mouthshut.com and I went through the website. I have seen so many reviews written by the people and didn't understand why they are writing this.

In the bottom of the webpage I saw some people photographs and some amount was drawn by them. It was interesting and went through the signup. I entered all the details and signed in, I was also started to write reviews on different products and services.

They told we will get Rs.50 for every detailed review and it shows in our account.

I was keep writing the reviews on the products and services which I used. After verifying my reviews they started to deposit Rs.50 in my account it's really working I was surprised at that time.

After 6 reviews I got Rs. 300 in my account and I redeemed it. After 15 days I got Rs.300 in my bank account. In-between they have answered all my doubts and questions through mail without any hesitation.

This is the best place to find genuine user reviews it helps us to buy the best always.

Mouthshut - a great online contest
May 18, 2015 01:13 PM

Recently, many of my friends talking about mouthshut contests, which is when I too started getting to know about mouthshut. They were all excitedly talking about the contest, what all reviews they had posted, how much they won. Then I too started writing reviews.

Then I found out that this is one of the top contest ever conducted in the history of online contests. Many other sites have tried it, for instance Snapdeal, which had conducted review contest where they would select a few winners of their choice. There seems to be no point in doing that, since it is most discouraging to the participants. In Mouthshut, you get the prize immediately without any partiality or bias, who ever participate can win . No doubt this is the top rated contest of recent times.

Mouthshut has been bold enough to conduct such a contest which has attracted a lot of people, who are coming forward with their reviews. Many sites demand that we can participate in their contest only if we buy some product from them. Nothing like this here. Anyway mouthshut is going to be more popular than even facebook or other social sites.

When I needed Help, I discovered Mouthshut!!
May 04, 2015 08:59 PM

About 2 and half yrs ago, I decided to buy my first DSLR and a new Smart phone. But basically I am a man of confusions.  Wat even product I consider to buy, I analyse it for 1 to 20 times and then only decide to buy it.

But still I need some others advice, especially of the people u already the experienced the product before and so I first visited the Flipkart reviews. but found only most of them to the positive reviews and learnt that the flipkart was deleting the negative reviews. And then I visited the yahoo answers but there too I never got a best concrete answer I need related to the product.

Then Suddenly a lucky day, I found this website with full of Product reviews, especially Indian Based. And wat was interesting that there wer all types of reviews including negative reviews and experiences on the product. The Reviews also had the details of Shipping problems, shop experiences, after sales service and so on and That really helpful.

So, with this info I got thru Mouthshut, I purchased both of my Canon 60D and lumia 1020 and both of them still going perfectly awesome.

Then I registered with the mouthshut and became a full time user.  Wat ever product, or place, or hotel or event, or even film I come across, i immediately share that here on Mouthshut and that makes me happy that "i probably helped someone".!

Bhai ne Bola kar toh Kiya
Apr 28, 2015 01:44 PM

One of my elder brothers of the hood asked me to try Mouthshut. And since then I have just shut my mouth and started writing. I have started to like it. Its not just about the money. After a long time in life my friends and me are into a productive competition or I would say process, where everyone is shutting up and just concentrating on writing. Some are using innovative copy/paste options.

Some are reading about lots of products. Many are honestly sharing their view. And there is no confrontation or argument. Its just Write-Share-Win. I am really interested to know about the person who came up with this whole idea. My first experience of redeeming was not so good. I entered my bank account number wrong. I wonder where my first earnings went.

After that I am writing on any product I please. And writing actually helps me a lot to think deeply of things I don't really think often or give a damn. Now gradually I am getting into this good habit of writing more and more. Thank you Mouthshut and Soubhagya bhai for this.

Thanks to my friend who told me about mouthshut.!!
Apr 22, 2015 02:37 PM

Just 10 days back, one of my best friend told me that there is one website called mouthshut.com where you can post your genuine reviews about any product and it may help others as well to buy right product.

Mouthshut.com is doing a great job. Whenever we need to buy any product, now it days it becomes very difficult to choose from so many competitive brands. For that, if someone can give some true experience about any product or brand, then it becomes easy for us to choose one among many.

I opened the website mouthshut.com and within few minutes I was able to understood the whole website and how it is working and how it helps brands and peoples to serve better.

How Did I Discover MS? Its kind of weird how one thing leads to another, for me it was AMUL UNDERWEAR that bought me to the doorstep of MS. Well, no..

I wasnt searching for the brands of underwear to gift to my bf, . No, I wasnt also searching for the various sizes and shapes that they offer.. ah, ha nothing of that sort. My friends and me were actually discussing on what actually a "toing" is after having seen this hoarding of an utterly sexy hunk in a red Amul Macho with girls lusting around him obviously going "toing".

So I googled for the word and I came here. I came. I saw. I was mesmerized. Of course after 1 hour of spending time here I didnt actually get to know what toing is but by then I had read several DPs which I had savoured to my delight.. like a punjabi relishing that extra dollop of butter served on an already heavily oiled paratha. Of course, I was to go to work that day so I couldnt open a profile here.

The busy me forgot about this by the time evening came. After a week or so, of "toing-ing" in google, I again came to this site thanks to a review on "Mandarmani". The travel freak in me wanted to go to some quiet beach near kolkata, had always heard of this place, but never really got info about it. MS did it again for me. This time I got what I wanted, and I told to myself.. wait.. I have some articles which I keep jotting down in my free time in MSword so why dont I post some of it here. I did, my first male bashing article and the response I got was so overwhelming. Thanks MS for this platform. Thanks MSians for liking me. Thanks Amul underwear for showing this world to me.

Mouthshut on US... some thing i like to sugggest.!
Aug 23, 2009 10:18 PM

Getting registered on the Mouthshut.com on the end of april was already a matter of privilege, because I found many people who were always to support me...

but yesterday on 22nd august 2009, when I logged in MOUTHSHUT US, there was no more need of registering again, because my existing id made me enter my DASHBOARD,

i got really and really happy..... because my favourite site Mouthshut placed its server on International site also...

but soon, I got into disappointment because my every thing was blank on US Server

my diary was blank

my review was blank

my photo gallery was blank

and

my list of trusted circle was also blank......

i was suprised how can it happen....

idont want to ask any question to administration member,

because asking question is not my right.......

but still, being a regular MS member, I want to put up some issue and suggestion, so that they could promote internationally not only the name but also on the work too...

some question wondering on my mind:-

if I am able to logged in by my existing id, why is my diary, review and photo gallery blank...

its ok if our diary, review and photo gallery is of not use to the people of US, but if we all can log in by our current user id, then, why our trust circle not the same of indian server...?

many people who use US server also know hindi language because they might be indian, so why reviews are also not the same....

why differenet inbox messages for the same profile? if I log in through US Server, I dont have same M2M which I have in Indian server....

why gifts we have in indian server not kept in US Server...?

why profile visitor number the half that we have in INDIAN server... (i mean, my profile visit count in indian server is about 2000 hits, but only 750 on US server.....?

this all blank page in US server makes us feel that we are completely stranger and new in MS........

please dont think me wrong, I wanted my favourite site to be only better on everything....

here are my some suggestion....

1) retain the same trusted circle as we have in Indian server so that we can feel the same community even in US server...

2) many famous social site like ORKUT, FACEBOOK AND YAHOO AND MANY MORE have two or more server where they save all the database of people... and it doesnt matter by which server I login, my profile information and everything are all the same...

so I suggest same to be for MS....

3) yeah, it can happen that the diary post which I have posted earlier may not be visited any more by any people, but what I want to suggest is that:-

for the upcoming posted Dp, review and photo gallery, let the information be saved in both server so that however user may log in, may they get all the information......

4) remember, if MS is doing this to increase its speed, it wont increase the speed, because member of MS would like their post to be viewed on both part of people, so they shall be using both server at a time.....

so what must be done is that, people nearer to US may get data from US, and indian user may be linked with INDIAN user,

just like this that if I type any one of the following yahoo.com or yahoo.co.in

the page that appears is always the same.........

5) yeah, MS can show the advertisment of US circle on US teritory and indian advertisment on INDIAN teritory..........

6) please update your word-application and other application in MS if it is possible............

7) brother sajit comment on harry brother Post is really realistic, so they must think about it...

https://mouthshut.com/diary/ffagomqoo/No-FP-now

i think they should start of featured photo, featured comment,

bonus point to the user who has been gifted featured post and review and FMM.

MS must be more concentrated to every post comment, and they must also comment on atleast few reviews, post and diary daily...(only if possible...)

dont think me bad on it......

but some of the issues of MS shows that it is not caring the indian server so much....

1) the same FMM from last three days.... did they really not got any good mobile message to be it featured...?

2) why no any FP on today 23rd August 2009?

3)why not immediate action against fake profile and user who posted semi-naked photos post?

i wanted only to see mouthshut improving day by day.....

and truly, I am really happy to be user of such a clean and useful site

i shall always be greatful to you...................

regards......

suraj....

Sweet Mistake
Dec 14, 2008 06:37 PM

Signing in Mouthshut has been one of the sweet mistakesI have done so far *other than instantaneously proposing to my now wife who took 6 years to respond.

I have been here since Apr 25, 2003 but I can still remember how I discovered mouthshut.com Around this time I was planning to buy a car and was not much sure on which one. Maruti Wagon R, Fiat Palio and Santro Xing just launched were amongst my considerations. After consulting with many of my colleagues still not satisfied I though I would search the net to see If I could find some comparison to zero in. Mouthshut was one of the sites in the search results.

Love at first site is the situation that could describe the feeling of seeing this site*.

The name "MouthShut"(Credit sure goes to the person who coined this name) was thing that catched my attention and I clicked it. I usually register my self in sites which I feel are frequent visit worthy. I created my self a user id "The Saint" on the movie The Saint starring Val Kilmer which I had seen recently then. I was much convinced with the reviews written in mouthshut and went for buying Santro Xing. And promptly I penned down my experiance on the Santro and it sure did had a very good response from the then users.(If you find time do look at this review of mine)

I had been active in between and then lost focus for some time inbetween while I was changing my job and moving to Delhi but again I saw this advertisement of mouthshut on the hood of a auto rickshaw in Delhi and logged in again. Glad I remembered by userid(The Saint)

Sweet

Mouthshut is sweet beacuse

  1. I suggests what to do and what not to as your spouce or good friend would do.

  2. Its a million hearts and mind that give you their experience and advice

  3. its Just like toffee in your mouth giving sweetness in installments

  4. Every comment and rating gives you a high

.

*Mistake

*It is a mistake because

1.I am sure All those who have tasted this forbidden apple would agree it is an addiction too

2.Can make your spouce feel jealous as you listen more to mouthshut

The mouthshut team has done a great job from keeping this site away from objectionable contents and users who play a spoil sport by moderating things time now and then. One good thing I feel about mouthshut is that it is more than a blog(i say this because owing to the freedom of speech this site offers) but still in a more organized way.

They found me!
Nov 01, 2008 08:50 PM

On 28th February 2001, I received an email from mouthshut. I have writing here ever since. My experience on this site is poor.Whenever a review is good(according to me) every attempt is made to kill it.It may sound pompous but I am the only person who has written about Shakespeare, music, Bollywood and soft drinks perhaps.

I am accused of writing too much.Nothing is appreciated.Name-calling is common. Some guys actually use swear words pretending that I am on their payroll or something.Well, don't like my review, my diary post, well don't take it.Or better, throw me out. But after repeated requests to allow me to go, my membership is not cancelled. So here I am writing on mouthshut.

There are many biases at play here.Just because I am from the east I am abused and insulted as if I have no feelings or something. Well, that's enough for now.Throw me out, MS, I am waiting for it!

Starting problem

This is not about how did I discover MouthShut. Rather what did I discover in MS. The ‘how’ story would be as simple as “ one of my friend orknob bulldozed me in here” & it would not stack up much as a review!

There’s always a first time

Surprisingly within minutes of posting my first review, sourray commented few lines & asked me to “peace out”! Then a smiling lady called amateurabe put a very motivating comment, & returned with another lively comment after  1 month after seeing the movie! Sureshmehcnit commented with good words too. I noticed all these members had a golden star mark beside their Ids. When I started wondering if only star writers have the obligation to comment on debut reviews, got comments from three weird IDs- moviezombie, ps316(who called himself rattlesnake & hizzzed off) & The_Reviewer. I was elated to receiving positive comments. The_Reviewer was extra inquisitive about my ID & asked what if it was flyingfish!  Weirdo.

Under the people tree*

I was simply lucky to get noticed & commented in my debut, also by brilliant writers like Sajita & Sarav. I did sent M2M to Faisal the CEO to check whether his claim of responding to M2M is true & to magicalsummer,as I admired her reviews & wanted her feedback. Both responded:).

Unfortunately, Anton(sourray) had to leave MS; but I will remember him being the first to comment. Similarly, thakurman was the first guy to add me in his TC. It was probably a wrong mouse click, as he did it 3 months even before my debut. Now that I have earned trust from 100 members, he still glows at the very bottom of the list, the evergreen Evereddy!

Clearly, orknob, souray, amatuerabe, The_Reviewer, Kumropotash, (she is not active anymore) &ajayan shares the primary responsibility to hook me onto MS with their motivating comments, high ratings & TC additions.

After the initial ecstasy died, it felt like wandering inside a labyrinth in Treasure Island. Every avenue, each alley unfolded numerous topics, brilliant reviews & gem of writers. If I try explaining it my way, it would come out like this-

Moviebuffs – To read reviews on quality cinema irrespective of origin or get feedback on, one must look up to whitedevil, moviezombie, Indian1969, patenik2, sarav, ajayan, mb07. After 1 year I must add ipshonulu, ravidutt, fog &wind. For bollywood release FDFS reviews, the baton seems to have changed hand from Prasidhha & fenil_seta to Paulsb02 with occasional appearance from Pranay22, Parnil. Some people have stopped cticize-ing as well. Ajayan writes excellent reviews on regional movies & Sajita is a master storyteller, with her picturesquely grasping narration. This section would remain incomplete without the mention of jbz7879 who appeared like a comet, wrote like there was no tomorrow & no comma full stop & dissappeared.

Bookworms- Great book reviewers who easily comes to mind are sumit_only, mimi_mou, jaideepkhanduja, pri20, indian1969, mbfarookh, nitesh1114, Paulsb02, magicalsummer, envyram, afrank, main_chup, mydessertz The_Reviewer, akisha & these days chintu25, CoolWater, ajjis. Not to forget paulose & zuludancing who are my inspiration to review at least 1 book someday.

Musiclovers- - I find this topic as extremely difficult for me to write just because of the fact that I can’t express my likings in words. WhileSheermelody, Sarav, Indian1969, psyxx, sureshmehcnit, systems_shadow does tremendous justice to the subject, the information about music composers, lyricists & singers they provide, comes extremely useful.

Moodchangers - They are gems, each with their unique infectious style. While psyxx, sudipto33, walking_dude, amatuerabe, shyamnambiar, zuludancing, main_chup, megs_4u, orknob, The_Reviewer, angel_25, pri20, sajita, paulose, dismantlebrigade, he.has.a.point, Alok_sr, sndaya, envyram, magicalsummer, rohitthebest, cool_breeze, Jayaghosh2k, itskunchumon, moronic_mortal, hakoonamatata & somaat can inject wit into any topic & their reviews remain tremendously informative & useful. Somehow, I find cousin2 to be extremely humorous in her comments & I eagerly wait for her different take on any review. Alk_ranjan crossed a harharharsh & rugged path to prove that eventually humour wins!

Whenever I felt gloomy as a cloudy dull midsummer afternoon cool_breeze, CoolWater, shefali_oxygen, fog_&_wind changed the weather with their witty takes on movies or life in general. Refreshingbluegrapes with her intricately detailed travelogues & fashion advises &nandeetaoberoisharma &itikasharma with her lovable takes on life, have always been patient to answers my idiotic queries. Comments from retro_dood, bluegrapes, linkingparkfan has helped me cross centuries, repeatedly.

Unique diversified topics with informative, observant & opinionated “purist” reviews from anuj_bhatnagar22, cool_tanmay, nitesh1104, asterix786, gold_cancerian, Rajat_Sarinhave always made space for great discussions.

Hats off to members like Cousin2, Diver, milinddesai, Indian1969, mohanR, who have crossed Herculean milestones & still continuing, they have withstood the test of time.

Wish you were here

When I started writing I wanted afrank, magicalsummer, diskonnekt & psyxx wake up from their deep hibernation & become active again. Miracle do happen, when wished hard enough. Wish Parikhmunir, matwalboy, mnc123 returns soon.

Some members who are not doing justice to their potential- Alok_sr, Kalparaj, See-thru-me, Ranjee4uall, doveye, moronic_mortal, cool_sagarika, arabiannites to name a few.

After one year I have discovered that,

  1. I can write.

  2. Like real world, it’s the people who make MS a better/ worse place.

  3. Unlike real world there is enough space for everyone here.

  4. An undersized T-shirt can be a made invaluable.

  5. It does not take much to make a hundred friends.

  6. It is not possible to keep everyone happy & be honest every time.

  7. If you want to fly, you can.

A day will come when I won’t have any readership & my ID will submerge in anonymity, notwithstanding influencing anyone’s buying decisions, the truth that I have met many good souls & made numerous friends, would shine brighter than thousand stars.

Sep 03, 2007 01:06 AM

Hi friends, I am completing my 100reviews in Mouthshut with this and let me use this space to thank each one of you who visited my reviews, rated it and left your comments. I value your positive feedbacks very much. I value your opinion positive or negative since they are my guidelines for future course. Each comment you wrote have a value placed on my growth in MS and in my personal life. So, hundred pegs or flowers…as your wish…here it is for you.

I started my mouthshutting with a movie review, in 2006 March. However, I have visited mouthshut in 2004where I was searching for movie reviews on Hulchul. I visited the link I got from yahoo search and come back again to read more reviews on the film. Then I thought of posting a review. However, after clicking post the review, Mouthshut asked me to register with a valid email id, but I feared giving my email id will invite spam mails or even viruses. Yes, that was my genuine worry to join in 2004. I dropped the idea then and there. It took another Priyadarsan film to search for this site where I already knew that there is a site where I can post my review. (Remember there were not many sites offering readers to write reviews in 2004/2005) My first review was on Malamaal weekly. From there, I started my journey in MS, mainly on movie reviews, but slowly shifting my one foot to other topics as well. Earlier I only used to visit the movie page of MS and only later come across most of the fine reviews and reviewers.

Even after 100 reviews, I know I am a pure amateur and still have more to learn than what I know already. Writing in MS surely helped me to improve my language. I know I have to still improve. The site also assisted me to keep my cool under pressure. The company of great people like you really helped me to grow wise and rich, especially since I value friendship much. The site did contribute to my personal growth and knowledge. It evoked my imagination to sky bound and more. My curiosity for more knowledge is teased by MS friends. I will not say it is a direct impact, but the indirect impact has been much more rewarding and inspiring. Quality of thoughts is another unique feature I liked here. If we genuinely consider, the group of writers in MS are really genius. Refer to any serious discussions and you will have to admit that. At the same time most of them keep a softer side, a funny side to keep the life more happy and enjoyable. It only shows the quality of the individual.

So far I have given 42 Bollywood movie reviews, 6 Malayalam movie reviews, 1 Hollywood movie & 3 reviews on movie related topics. That put my tally on movies altogether @52. Obviously I am writing more on movies, because I know it is the most awaited reviews in mouthshut than any other topic. I also noticed that Mouthshut reviews are well tagged to reach by yahoo or google search. You search on any books or movies or advise, mouthshut reviews are getting prominent places. As I mentioned in few of the comments, I am definite that many a times MS member reviews are even read by celebrities and doesn't matter they don't leave a comment in the column, as they are not suppose to and even if they do, they will not disclose there correct names for sure. Search to believe.

I would love to write on Malayalam movies or Tamil movies, since I like both these genre of movies very much. However, these movies released here too late. And the readership is comparatively low as I am writing it after say 2 months or 3 months of the film release. Still I may write on good films since I got a surprise visitor to my movie review by none other than my brother in law one day and he mailed to congratulate me. He found my review by yahoo search. So, I know there is a connection link I am leaving for my class mates, relatives etc., back at home.

I have written 13 book reviews (Only? I was under the impression that I have written more…Lol!!!) so far. Of course, I would like to write more book reviews for sure. 6 reviews on Tourist places (Not bad…especially since I only traveled less. Let me travel more to write more…will write more for sure, but later…not in the near future. I am sad.) 9 reviews on advises. I noticed that the advice reviews are getting much less attention. Thanks to the grown up readers who are reached a stage in life and looking at it from top, where those write ups are mainly for people who look from bottom. I will continue to write for those growing generations to search and find out.

I have written 14 reviews on general topics, current or general in nature, something personal etc. I think I will write more in this section in the coming days. I am yet to express my views on various issues. More than anything, some of my good reviews (according to me) has come under the above 2 sections.

Including this one, 6 reviews on mouthshut…Oh! That is on the higher side I believe. But what to do, all is written with a purpose. So, may be I will maintain the same pace on it. Reviews on mouthshut usually attract more member visits and comments. (No…that was not the purpose of this topic selection, but I wanted it to be special and the easiest solution was this topic.)

There are a lot of people who helped my MS journey. Santhosh, Abha, Daya, Ipsi, Shanti, Sudipto, Jaideep, Sanjoy, Tanmay, Sujata, Ambuj, Nandita, Rohit, Sonika, Shyam, Ava, Sumit, Usman, Nik, Anton, Prasidddha, Fenil, Mak, Ratna, Shalini, Jeeva, Mimi, Pranay, Lyla, Parnil, Vijith, Jaya, , Itika, Smita, Ramya, Sandil, Anil, Mags, Shefali, Alok, Nithya, Sandeep, Tenny, Anusha, Rajeev, Sarvesh, Vinayak, Pras, Sweety, Raghubai, Ateesh, Sajita, Priyanka, Manoj, Sayed, Anish, Zahid, Victor, Harsha, Lisa, Parik, Farooq, Srinidhi, Srinivas, Nisha, Asad, Pravin, Ravi…This review is dedicated to you people….I am sure I missed few more…sorry for my weak memory…and a little ignorance…

Thanks Faisal, Thanks Jasmine…and all those faces work behind to keep the site moving.

Have a great day friends….it is another day…!!!

Attempted autoMSography

“I did not discover mouthshut, moutshut discovered me” … Hmm well, I can see the sigh on you face on reading this seemingly coincidental, uninspired thought that comes to every MSian who writes on this topic. I am not going to say that. Since there is nothing dramatic or exciting or different, I did not want to say anything about me and mouthshut either. But somehow I am tempted to tell my story after having discovered this topic and having discovered mouthshut and having discovered more about mouthshut!

Background

*Never had a great flair in my writing, except for the silly poems I used to write during my school days. But writing has always been an interest. Was waiting for some opportunity. Sureshmehcnit(Suresh) was my colleague and he introduced me to blogs(Yeah, didn’t know about blogs till then). I started blogging, but there was nobody to read. Then he introduced me to Mouthshut as well during the ‘Best of 5’ contest Jan 2006.

Posted a couple of reviews … so many VU ratings, so many comments, revs getting into hot revs, id getting into ‘Best debut’ … same experience most of us would have had. Just a small difference: won the ‘Best of 5’ contest as well, soon after entering MS. So, getting all excited started writing full-fledged …

About 20 revs on Mouthshut, all of a sudden I get this email from Jasmine Ahuja to send a photo and few lines about me and that I have become a star writer. Though I was happy, I could not control laughing. No one knows me better than myself. I could(can) hardly write a single proper English sentence and I became a star writer. First time, I suspected the quality of mouthshut management!

That was history. What is coming up is more history;)

More history …

I felt more responsible after been tagged as a star-writer. I started adding *more information into the write-ups than just some unintelligible scribbling I used to make. I got more involved with mouthshut. Still, I was not writing differently or on different topics. One of the comments I received summed it up my state at that point in time …

From QSB @ quicksilverbrain:“very hard to comment on ur revu yaar, u rite so neat, so to the point stuff, kya bole?. uuu.ok.’ nice revu, ’ will that do buddy?

Now that helped me more than ‘good one …’ ‘excellent stuff’. That made me explore different topics and write more and to explore more.

Something interesting …

I remember it was 48th rev that I wrote on mouthshut that made me feel *insulted. It was deleted by mouthshut management. Though the outcome has always been craps, I have made sincere attempts in every rev I write.

That rev was about Mouthshut and against its decision to give away the ‘Go goa’ contest prize to one of the contestant who had just copied all the revs(Technically, plagiarism). That person had not written even one rev before the contest! Wanted to quit mouthshut, once for all. Not because I did not win(I never participated in the first place), but felt something fishy about MS’s winner selection strategy i.e. it was not a clean forum.  But did not go away just like that, wanted to highlight the issue further. Wrote emails to all our Mouthshut friends gained some support and copied in on Faisal in all the emails. And posted this rev as well(49th) … after which I wanted to quit(Title: Mouthshut for dummies by a dummy)

https://mouthshut.com/review/Writing_Reviews_on_MouthShut-105680-1.html

No direct pointing but that helped to take a dig at the mouthshut management.  But two of the comments made me stay longer …

Shyamnambiar: “vinayak. that review was midriff-splittingly humourous and relevant….** Am regretful I didnt get to see your review a month back when I joined.else I would have been in Goa Phhokat-mein!”

That was something different to the other comment some time before. Felt if I could manage an enjoyable rev, at least now and then, I have something to contribute to this forum.

And more importantly this one for the same rev …

Parikhrmunir: “And Vinayak, to be honest, nothing will change. One of these days, if this continues, MS will flag a reputed member and you all will leave, a new crop of writers will come and the circle will be completed. That is how it has always worked and that is how it will always work.”

And what he said happened. Juhita an excellent MSian who saw all these started writing against MS as well. Priya(Pri20) wrote a review as well. Both these revs were deleted. It was all against MS at one stage … but Juhita continued to write and write against and now you can see no traces of her. Her ID got deleted. Usually a member needs to be flagged or warned before removed. You cannot see her even on the members flagged or sealed column. To take a lesson from this history(just in case you did not know this before), never write against mouthshut!

Few more tragedies …

*Sometimes the longer you stay in a place; you tend to develop some sort of emotional attachment to it. Though through internet it is all virtual, people who interact are real. Felt bad when ketulshah(someone who I know pretty well, only through mouthshut) was flagged and removed. He was removed for extortion threat! Believed and still believe it could not have been him(he is a CA and someone who still writes for sites like moneycontrol.com and someone whose orkut profile almost always had an Indian flag besides it!). But, that is only what I think.

Sourray @ Anton was stranded at 99 revs when he was flagged for copyright violation. He was another dude for some reasons I missed on Mouthshut. He says he has been writing on other portals as well, which he posted on MS. No opinions from me here, but was thoroughly disappointed.

Mouthshut and routine …

*Whatever happened I kept visiting mouthshut. Wrote revs on regular intervals, read many revs and the wheel kept spinning. I got into a partnership with Thakurman when we both hit 50 revs almost together. Decided to hit 100 together; he doesn’t seem to be around these days.

Never got into mouthshut and its principles for so many months. Nowadays just restricting reading, writing revs. Infact I hardly get M2Ms these days. After a period of time, mouthshut suddenly appears new; lot of new friends lot of new revs; More fun, more information … and eventful.

Thanks to all the friends who have always encouraged; read revs; and commented … Just afraid to name the people for the fear of missing out names; there have been so many of them. Completed my 1 year at Mouthshut some 8 months ago, but celebrating now with memories;)(Should I not present a reason for the rev?;)Looking forward for more eventful and happy mouthshutting.

Had so much to write … but the write-up ends because it has to!;) Thanks for bearing a long nostalgic write-up if you have come this far

Smiles,

Envyram

The abridged version of the long story...
Jun 12, 2007 01:17 AM

How did I discover mouthshut.com? It's a very very long story. It will take me days to narrate this one. Considering the fact that you are a busy person and you took some precious time off from your busy schedule to read my writings... I'll try to shorten the tale and let you in on how I discovered Mouthshut.com.

Unlike many members, I had no friend to tell me that this site existed. Unlike many other members, I wasn't brought to this site on a referral program. Unlike many many other members, I didn't see an ad of Mouthshut.com anywhere.

You see, mine is a totally different tale. A very long tale... a tale which I intend to simplify for your convenience.

How did I discover Mouthshut.com?

I discovered it on Google.
