Choosing a Washing Machine

LG direct drive worked for almost 5 years without any problem. Then it suddenly stopped working. The PCB board was dead. The timer in it was gone. There was no PCB board for that model available in the market. So even if the machine was good I had to scrap it because of a part unavailability. Some technicians told be it will cost about 9000 Rs, but they would not give a guarantee on it. A few technicians told me that the company will not manufacture it so people go and buy a new washing machine. If people get all the parts then even 10 years they will be using the same washing machine.

Now brought an IFB which does not have a timer display as my experience the more display and electronic parts we have in a washing machine the more it is prone to beak down, so lets see how this works.

I purchased IFB  front loading  washing machine Elena Aqua 6kg silver from Bismi Kaloor, Cochin, 2 months back. I am a new user to front loading, so I bought it trusting the salesman .But when I started to use it, for clearing my doubts I went through 6kg IFB in you tube. Then only I understood there is display model of same machine of mine.But mine has neither display, nor function indicator.So I cannot read how much time left for finishing that washing programme.

Thus model doesn't spin after washing and rinsing, only it does draining.It does spinning only once at the final stage.In some  programmes it uses very little water   and clothes won't be free from soap powder.Some other programmes takes time more than  2 hours So I called the shop people to exchange it for the display one  .But they didn't do that, and  I contacted IFB people, they too were not willing for the exchange. My suggestion  to all those who are  willing to buy front loading is that, go through reviews before buying  it.

Very poor service after sales …. Don’t buy it you can wait for weeks after registering your Complaint…They will always say our server is down? please call after some time…This is the third time I have complained…. Technicians are not trained when they come they don’t have the things to repair….A big no to IFB

In 2011 I bought siemens front loaded washing machine because of its german brand value. It is a total disappointment. At the time of installation the engineer shocked me with the life of the machine is only 5 - 7 years.

As he said it worked for 4 years after that it started developing problems. It gave a minor repair which costed Rs 3, 500/- After 8 months it started making noise. When the complaint was raised a sales guy named Parthiban attended and said The disc has tobe replaced and it would cost Rs8, 500/- and he charged Rs 800 for his visit.

After repeated follow ups with him he never bothered to come. After waiting for four months I raised this issue with the customer care. They said will send another person but he will also charge Rs 800/- for his visit. This is totally disappointing did not expect it from siemens.

Not only their product does not have decent life span their service is way below the industry standards. Pls avoid Siemens for the below reasons

1. It is not long lasting

Hello everyone couple of months ago I was wondering why my water tank goes empty and light bills are increased! After looking at my new washing machine I came to know about this disgusting programming of Videocon washing machines. My specific model is Videocon DIGI Pearl Supreme 7.0kg fully automatic variant. So as you can see in video whenever their is imbalance or overload in drum on spin mode(which is last step of washing) the drum will take couple of rotations& if machine observes some minor imbalance(which happens nearly every time for this machine lol) the program is made that in same spin mode machine will repeat rinse mode itself& again after rinse spin mode will give a try and if imbalance found machine will keep recycling same processes for hours unless until you notice that machine is on! Whereas the real programming in other brands is, if their is any kind of imbalance or overload the machine will stop the process on its own setting on alarm and will shut down. So this videocon machines are wasting hell lot of water, electricity and ultimately will damaging your clothes with unwanted rinsing for hours! I am surprised with engineering behind this disgusting programming from brand like videocon! I hope they will get the message regarding the same ASAP as I'm gonna mail them soon. Already India is starving for water and videocon is contributing in lot of wastage all over the India! I will let you guys know if I get some responses from videocon!

I have been using an IFB Machine last several years which no doubt is proof enough of its durability and quality. But the extremely poor response of the after sales team completely wipes out the overall score for the IFB brand of washing machine. I had lodged a complaint for a defect in my IFB appliance mid November 2016. The company engineer visited the next day and took an advance from me to replace the damaged part saying that he will visit again in a day with the new part. My machine has been left in a non-working condition and each time I call the engineer he gives an evasive response about completing the repair. It is the same with the senior after sales team. I have written this review feeling exasperated with the futile follow-ups. The only available option now is to scrap the machine.

Hi… I use an ASKO dryer for my clothes as many do. Has anyone ever felt that your fabric is being degraded. I came across many articles highlighting the issue including research journals. I am not happy to send this mail. We are highly disappointed with your VERY WORST service. I am Madhavi From karur dist. in Tamil nadu. Past one month I was tried to reach your people to sort out the issue on our Washing machine SENORITA VX 6KG 800RPM. Regarding this last september I was speck to your Local service peeson in karur his name Mr.praveen his no. 8870750129. he came to our home on 30th September 2016. He said the machine display board was not working for bad power fluctuation so still the warranty period is available so that to change the new board and also the Stabilizer is must for this machine. We have already put one Stabilizer through from your people only, the Cost of the stabilizer is Rs.1320/-. But your local service person Mr.Praveeen said, this stabilizer is not that much worth for power fluctuation, we must to change the new stabilizer cost nearly Rs.4000/-. You people ready install the new stabilizer but not ready to take back the old one which I have already bought through for you people. He said the board is currently not available in our hand so that we order the new one, ones we receive the board then we fix it. This is the statement he given to us. After that he was not contacted us. After one week, I tried contact your service people one Mr.Senthil his no. 9159702040. He said still not yet to receive the board. We waited for one more week then I launch the compliant in your Customer care division No.1103768481. You people were promised me to solve the issue with in 24 hrs. Regarding this again I spoke to Mr.Senthil he give another local service man Mr.Mani his no. 9994022649. He was not came directly to our place, I send the machine photo via whatsappp on 19th October 2016 to his mobile. but no response. After a week that one Mr.Yuvaraj service man his no.9698266077. He Contacted us and he came to our home on 21st October 2016. he said the next the day will come and change the board. Still we are waiting no one were not change anything from here. The machine is stand like a statue in our home. No use. Now we are not interested to solve the issue on the machine. we are HIGHLY IRRITATED for your VERY WORST SERVICE. We will inform you that to launch the CASE ON CUSTOMER PENAL COURT. THAT'S IT.

My sincere advice is that don't buy IFB washing machine since I am facing lot of problem with customer service and service center people in Hyderabad.

I have registered a complaint 19/Sep, but till 27/Sep no technician attended my home to see what happened to washing machine. I am daily calling customer care center and service center people they will say that by end of day or tomorrow morning technician will attend. Everyday same story they are telling. Even I am not understand to whom to need to contact for quick solution. Smart answer by service center people will say that spare part is not available by assuming problem even without visiting washing machine. More over this second complaint regarding same issue. For first complaint technician came and replace PCB board and after two to three days again got the same problem. There end my hope on IFB washing machines. Al most one month I am facing problem with IFB washing machine.

In conclusion, don't buy IFB washing machine as it service is the most worst service I ever seen.

I bought a sumsung front load bubble wash 8 kg washing machine on August 29 .They lnstalled on the next itself, but during installation the door had some manufacturing defect, the engineer did not know what to do and told me he will come back after checking the manual.he did not turn up . So had to again complain to Samsung service who duly attended and told they have to replace the washing machine itself. But repeated complaints also they have not done anything .one of the worst service these people give, I will advise anyone not to buy it.

I went to a very popular shop to buy a washing machine.when I step in, my head starts spin like a washing machine coz of lot of machine out there and they keep describing each and every products, so I catch my breath and said "Fully automatic" .then we directed to another section, suddenly my eyes get caught on a lovely godrej washing machine there. it met my requirements, so I brought that godrej 6.2 litre fully automatic machine in Nov'15. So far it fulfill my expectation, 5 start rating less energy consumption, not too noisy.its alarms are pretty loud .Electric panel comes with simple but customized button, less option will be less complaints. that black shiny colour is another eye catching feature.i brought a geyser along with it so I managed to buy that around Rs.12, 500.My suggestion is go for Godrej if its for a small family "

I bought an IFB 5KG washing machine in year 2000. It is still running fine. Couple of times I had to call repair service to fix some noise and wobbling, costing me around Rs. 7000 to 8000. That is over a period of 15 years. I have seen other washing machines come and go with my relatives and neighbors, but mine still runs. My wife is rather unhappy that it has not gone bad, she wants to by a new one that takes liquid soap.

Hi,

My washing machine repair service was booked for 20th Aug in Thane . The repairmen named Mahendra repaired the machine. In the process he damaged the outer ring of the bucket of the machine. Also he changed the pipe worth 650 Rs and after he left, the pipe started leaking again. The charges for repair was Rs 450.

Total cost of the service was Rs 1000.

This was a very bad experience. At least company authorized people should be trustworthy. Also there was no rating questionnaire or any feedback mail from whirlpool. I think that this company has no expectation of growing and improving now.

I am going to put this up in consumer forum.
