BEWARE They often sell products more than it's MRP
Mar 09, 2016 12:02 AM

I bought G.Skill RAM 4GB DDR4 SO-DIMM which was at INR 3200, but they sold it at a higher cost. When I called them, they were very well aware of the actual cost and were not at all concerned about any complaints.

I am not defending any dealer here.

I know vikas very well been buying comp and all accessories from this store  for the past 10 years.

He would charged it because of the brand change.

I am guessing cause u would have had problems with ur present ram and changed to other brand which would be more expensive.

That would be the reason why he would have taken the difference amount from u for the ram.

Don't ever buy from Ankit Computers. I had bought a configured CPU in this shop. The RAM stopped working next day.

The guy named, Vikas in the shop, initially delayed exchanging the RAM, without any concrete reason. In fact, the customer treatment when buying, differed a lot during the service. After 15 days, he demanded 300 bucks extra for the exchange, without any fault from me.

I don't why these people fail to understand that customer satisfaction is the key to success. I would never recommend Ankit Computers.....

AM COmputers- BIg cheaters SP Road bangalore
Aug 28, 2009 12:05 PM

I recently bought a Gigabyte motherboard from AM Computers who is located at this address #6, 2nd Cross, SP Road, Bangalore.. (Not my usual regular shop). I purchased it as my friend insisted.

Such a big cheat.... The motherboard costed me 4000 Rupees and didn’t even work for 1 hour. On contacting him over the phone, he suggested that I call the company people directly.

On doing so, the company people questioned me on whether the hardware was properly installed, checked and so on……… Let me tell you that I am a hardware engineer myself and I have assembled and installed several PC’s over the years.

They finally asked me to get the motherboard replaced from the dealer. On going back to the shop, the guy pretends as though I am not at all standing there…..Having given them a business of 20, 000 Rupees… Can one expect such kind of courteousness…..when the peripherals were purchased just a day ago.

Finally when I insist about the replacement, he claims that he cant replace it with the Intel one but will replace it with other Gigabyte motherboard and he accepts the motherboard and tells his boy to replace it. The boy carries the given motherboard outside and goes for a long walk and returns back with the same motherboard claiming that he has exchanged it.

On coming back home, I get the same problem with the motherboard. All my projects that were to be completed urgently were on hold and I was running out of time with no computer at all. I had to re-invest on the Intel motherboard and get things going smootlhly…….

Hence, I suggest all my fellow readers never to purchase PC peripherals from the above mentioned shop i.e. AM computers located in SP Road, Bangalore…….

These people cheat and you cant even return such stuff back... what the point in talking about warranty when this does not work. Also, you cannot sell such devices which are non working to others....... does not make any sense......I incurred a huge loss of money, time and effort

Dont buy from Ankit Computers
Oct 07, 2008 05:43 PM

Ankit computers is a somewhat famous shop on SP Road. I recently had a very bad experience buying from this shop. In short - the treatment you get when you are buying something has no correlation with the treatment you get when you need repair or replacement! I bought an Antec cabinet - the P182, 2 x 2 GB Transcend memory, 500 GB Segate hard disk and a Sony DVD writer from this guy. Of these, the DVD writer did not work. It did not work since the first time I plugged it in - wouldn't read a thing.

So I called up the Ankit computers person - Dinesh. He claimed that his service centre was closed on that day and I should go on any day after Monday and get a replacement. When I went to the shop, the next Wednesday, they pointed me to their service station. This place is a cramped place that looks like a prison interrogation room. I was made to wait for what seemed like 30 minutes there. After the wait the fellow there took the writer, shook it a couple of times and then claimed that something was broken inside and was moving.

Hence, he suggested, I should go back to the counter and get it replaced. So I went. This time these guys wouldn't look at me for another 15 minutes. They behaved as though they were doing me a favour by even talking to me. After this wait, Dinesh asked me to follow some random guy carrying cartons around and he would show me where to go next. So I did. This fellow pointed me to some nondescript building which looked like it could be someone's house. Turns out that the Sony DVD writer reseller was operating from here. This fellow treated me courteously, but made me wait another half an hour nonetheless.

Eventually, some tech guy there looks at the drive, cracks it open and says it can't be repaired, either leave it with him for couple of days or ask Ankit to replace it since it is well within warranty. This place, by the way, is not very close to Ankit. So I call up Dinesh. He picks it up, but is speaking to someone else in the shop. After couple of minutes he speaks into the phone and says something to the effect that he cannot replace the drive. When I try to explain to him the what the reseller is saying, he hands over the phone to someone else who says that Dinesh is having his food and cannot speak! So I take the drive and head back to the shop. I confront Dinesh and ask him why am I being made to run around when the damn thing is practically brand new and refuses to work(it was barely 5 days out of the shop!) he claims that there is nothing he can do and warranty is manufacturer's problem! Eventually he takes the drive, gives me a slip saying I have given it to him, and asks me to collect it four working days later.

Of course, all the while behaving like he is doing a great favour to me. So, my suggestion is, unless you are very sure that the product you buy from this guy will never fail and you'll never need to use warranty, DO NOT BUY from Ankit computers. If you find this information useful, please link back this page with Ankit computers in the link text so that search engines will pick up the story.
